POR to Poly by Car. Pay for MK Gate?

my parents who are staying at POR will be meeting me and my bride at the Poly for dinner at 'Ohana. Would they hafta go throught the MK Gate and pay, or is there a direct route to the Poly? I know they can just tell the Poly gate that they're dining and get in, but I don't know if the MK Gate will put a kink into things.

Since they're staying at a Disney resort they can park in the MK parking lot for free. They can get a 3 hour parking pass at the POLY or can park at the MK lot and take the monorail, or walk, to the POLY.

From POR I would not go through the MK gate. Out of the resort, turn right (Bonnet Creek Pkwy). At the end, turn left (Vista Way). That will take them past Fort Wilderness and it will merge onto World Drive past the MK gate. Turn left at Seven Seas Drive, that will take them to the Poly.

About how long would it take to drive to Ohanas from POR? We will have a car, but wondering if we should take that or use the Disney transportation. We also have a later dinner (6:50), so am worried about transportation back to the resort.

Use the other advice on this thread first.

If you do try to go past the toll gate (use 2'nd or 3'rd lane from right) and tell the toll taker you are going to the Poly' and the gate toll taker does put a kink into things anyway, you tell him you just changed your mind. He will tell you to make a go around U turn somewhere, most likely by bearing right just after the toll gate which incidentally is the way to the Poly'.

Just my 2 cents. When we drove to Wilderness Lodge and entered through the MK gate I just told the toll worker we were going to Wilderness Lodge and they sent me on my way without paying the toll. At Wilderness I told them we were there to shop and eat and all they required was a quick look at my driver's license. We arrived mid afternoon and were parked until after 9pm no problem. I have no idea if Poly is any different but I wouldn't think so.
