POR standard or preferred??

Is it worth it to book POR for the water view or should I stick with the standard room? the difference is 528 for six nights with our AP rate or 595 for six nights with the water view. This is our first trip to this hotel and I really need some help with this one.

We have just got back from POR and we had a corner room in Oak Manor facing the river which was very nice. I did not pay any extra for the view and dont think I would have been inclined too either as the whole resort is very pretty and also the majority of time we were in the room it was dark and you could not see the view!

Personally, I would save the dosh and spend it on yourself!

Save your money. Since the moderates don't have individual balconies you have a hard time seeing the water from your room. We usually keep the blinds partly closed so everyone walking by can't see into the room.

Some of the water view rooms I have been upgraded to have been hard to see the water.

Thank you!! We just switched to standard view. Saved us about $70. I am so glad I asked!! Can you also tell me which building I should request for two people (non-smoking), one of which is a five year old Thanks again!!

We have always stay in Alligator Bayou building 14. It is next to the food court. Great location.

This resort has 2 very different sections, then sections within. There is Aligator Bayou and the Mansions. AB is more rustic, but closer to the food court. The Mansions are beautiful and the lanscaping is wonderful-you have to cross over a foot bridge to get to the main section from here. We always choose the mansions, unless we need the extra space of the trundle bed. Only AB has the extra bed. Each section has quiet pools also.
