Am I the only one considering booking one of these just so I can get upgraded? I am so jealous. I simply cannot believe anyone would be disappointed in getting upgraded to the GF or Poly from a Moderate.

If I could scrape up the money for March instead of November, you can bet I would book in a heartbeat.

First of all, they are not going to book any room that is not available; that ship has sailed........

Also, I feel badly for all the people who booked those rooms, especially for their children who picked them out specifically. There are some very heartbroken parents and children that are really upset over having to go to another resort.

While some people on the POR thread are happy about it, other people are really upset and I don't blame them. They are trying to make the best of a very upsetting situation. Don't assume that everyone is happy about it.

Not everyone wants to go deluxe......

Agree with PP, although I would definitely take the upgrade without complaint!

And also, they have a new date of completion now so I am sure they will work to get the rooms done by then so as not to have to upgrade anyone else. So that won't work anyway.

I work in conctruction management. One of my vendors is a national company that also works with Disney.

He told me when the hammer comes down with a "drop-dead" date, which is the situation they have now, you drop every other project you have and Disney pays you to work 24/7 to get it done. Schedules are not always the problem of the contractor; Disney may have been too anxious to get the rooms open. Believe me, they will make the date. Resources will be pushed to the limit, but it will happen.

Also, another assumption that is being bandied about is 'wow, be grateful thats worth like $300-$400 a night' .... it isn't always about the money. More money does not necessarily make for a better vacation. The Royal Rooms are very 'theme specific' which is why they were chosen so an alternative like the Poly or GF just isn't gonna cut it, no matter how expensive they are.

Like I said before, my daughter was given pick of the crop, she could have chosen any one of the deluxes and of course, us adults are saying to her 'oooooh look at that one, look how fancy that is etc etc'

What does she pick? All Star Movie Resort of course!

I, personally, would change and appreciate that awesome upgrade in a heartbeat!!!! Woo hoo....Polynesian here I would come :).
