Do you think a boy would enjoy the Royal Guest rooms? He is not a fan of princesses. Does it look boyish enough that he won't think, "Eww, its a girlie room."

I thought maybe I'd play up the fact that it looks like a royal room from a castle, fit for a king, a prince, a queen.... Do the pictures of the princesses make it too girlie looking?

We stayed in one in June. My sister has three boys and stayed in Alligator Bayou area but they loved our room! The headboard that lights up was so cool! I think it is regal looking not really girlie. There are pics of Tiana with other princesses on the wall....maybe two or three but there are "gifts" from Aladin in the room like a magic carpet on the floor and a genie lamp for the water facet. My sisters oldest boy is 10 and he wanted to change their room! Hope this helps.

We just stayed with our 7 yr old boy/girl twins 2 weeks ago. IMO the rooms aren't overly girlie, the only thing that would make it girlie are the pics on the wall. The bedding is dark blue and gold in a very regal pattern and the furniture is warm brown. I think it is balanced enough to appeal to boys and girls.

I'm booked at POR and thinking of switching to a royal room, DH isn't too sure about for my stepson, thinks it might be too girlie, but he's on the fence. My DD would love it.

My 22 year-old son and I stayed in a Royal Room for 10 nights this past June and he liked it. I don't think it's too girlie!! ;)

We are doing one night of it with DS9. He is actually excited about the fireworks part and didn't really notice the artwork.
Of course, we are moving to BCV the next day, so I don't think it will be a problem overall.

We stayed in March with a 7 and 1 year old, both boys. My 7 year old loved the room! He thought the head boards were the greatest thing. There are some girlie pictures, but I don't think the entire room has that feel.

I have not stayed in a royal room but seen many pictures... the decor certainly isn't too girly but if hes a detail type that would pick up on the princess touches around the room, then you might want to think about that. Kids seem to like the headboards and overlook the rest of the princess stuff so if your DS might be like that then you should be fine.

We stayed in one this April with my 12 year old daughter and 9 year old son. They both loved the room. Definitely not too girlie!

I don't think the rooms look too girlie, but if it is even a minor concern, skip the Royal Room and save some money with a preferred room which cost less and offer more IMO.

If it were available, I would do a preferred room. We're on the free DDP and the only thing available for our dates is the Royal Guest Rooms. I think we'll go for it.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

Have fun! Put in a request for Oak Manor, it is quicker to the main pool and buses than Parterre Place, and about the same to the main building!

:thumbsup2
