We are checking in next Sunday and was wondering what are some of the buildings to ask for. We want near the food court and close to a bus stop seeing my father-inlaw has some troubles walking sometimes. Thanks so much!!

Rather than request a particular building or buildings, just request "a room near the food court and a bus stop".

I suggest calling the resort and EXPLAINING why it's important. I'd do this on Monday or Tuesday - ask for the room assigner - you have a valid "medical" reason for the request :)

Good luck,
EG

If you can, get a map of the resort. I have just come back and building 85 was very close (I think it was the closest)

Good luck!:thumbsup2

We were in building 39 two years in a row. It was a really nice location. We were across from the quiet pool and just a short walk to the food court. Have a great trip!

We just went to MNSSHP last night, I have to work today but my mom got a room at POR to stay with the kids. It was busy at check in so we could not get in the room till after 3. My mom is in a wheelchair, and was in it when she checked in.
We called in from the pool and got our room assignment, went to building 15 and the room was on the second floor. NO ELEVATOR! Make sure when you request a room ask for first floor or a building with an elevator. We had already unloaded which is a hassle with the chair lift, in the pouring rain, I was soaked, only to find out that there is no elevator. We called and I had to go back to the front desk to change the room keys and were giving another building as well.
Hope you have a great trip!

Definately call! When we left Friday, the resort was at 95% capacity, so if you wait until check in to ask, you may be out of luck. The mansion buildings do have elevators, so if that is important, just request to be in the mansion section. Only request what you absolutely have to have! With the resort so full, you will have better odds of getting what you need if you keep it simple. Say "Ground Floor Only" Do not say "Ground floor in building 15 right next to the pathway". Good luck!

I wanted to add that when we checked in last week, my only request was a room in the Alligator Bayou section, and they could not honor it. When I checked in and was told I was in the Mansions, I had the lady double check. And she said that AB was booked solid with families of 5.

Bldg 14, in AB section, is the very closest bldg to both the food court and bus stop. We were in that bldg, ground floor, corner room, and could see the buses coming and going through the trees. The rear wall of the main bldg was across the walkway from our room! But, this is a very popular bldg...there just happened to be a room that would be available later in the day if I wanted to wait for it..which I did.
I would call whomever you booked your room through, and put in your requests...close to food court, bus stop, possible on the ground floor, especially if your f-i-l will be in a wheelchair for the parks due to the walking issues. The walks, from the rooms, to a bus stop are not all that bad. It can be about an 8 min walk to the food court from the further out rooms...we had one for our first trip.
