Our family will be arriving at the POR on Sat. Sept. 25 for a 7 night stay. I did request a trundle bed, as we have 5 in our family. I have not requested any particular building. I have read you need to fax your request about 4-5 days prior to arrival. We have never been to this resort and know nothing of the layout. Being close to the food court might be nice, as would being close to transportation. I've read there is a bus and ferry boat. Can anyone share their past experiences and possibly give me some suggestions as to what building might work best for us.

Thanks so much for any help you can give me. :Pinkbounc

We also are a family of five and never even used the trundle bed, but's it's good to have just in case. We stayed at Magnolia Terrace on the Third floor with a water view which is a little extra but I would not recommend paying extra, because there are so many trees that you really can't see much if any water from your room.

The location was great, once you get your bearings straight and find your way around, you will see that you are close to all the action from this location, you walk over a bridge to the main pool area, then over another bridge to the main area, which is just great.

Make sure you bring the camera, you will be taking lots of pictures of the resort area alone.

Great choice of resort by the way, can't wait to go back to POR in 2005.:earsboy:

Alligator Bayou section is fabulous/ bldg 14,15,18 are all right near the food court . I believe #18 has a quiet pool and laundry. You really cant go wrong there. I love POR. The landscaping and theming are great, as well as the food court, not bad as far as food courts go. Very pretty at night. Have fun!

Thanks so much for the info...Praying now that the new storm "karl" turn back out to sea....;)

Thanks again.

My boyfriend and I just returned from a 4 night stay at POR. we were in room 1839 in building 18 of Alligator Bayou. Excellent location...close to main building, food, and bus stops but great scenery, views, and quiet. Actually, the whole resort was pretty dead when we were there (right in betweeen Frances and Ivan). We didn't even make a building request. When we checked in the CM asked if I had a preference as to Magnolia or Alligator and I just said "something close" and that's where they put us!

I don't think you can go wrong!! Have a great trip!
You're gonna love this place!
