POR Riverside let down?

Wilderness Lodge was our first family vacation ever. The following year we stayed at Riverside and we loved it just as much!!!!! Here is what we liked at Riverside in comparison to Wilderness Lodge:
Huge playground,
huge arcade,
big gift shop,
excellent food court with many more options,
nighttime entertainment for families in the lounge area
longer water slide and more pools overall
hammocks
cane pole fishing
horse and carriage rides
ability to use amenities and pool over at French Quarter-short lovely walk along the river

We loved both Wilderness Lodge and Riverside!

What?! We are having issues with our bounce back offer right now (says my daughter made the reservation and there's no dining linked to it).

I really hope that's not the case.

Values and Moderates are Quick Service Plan.

FQ has some really good beignets. Walk back from FQ to Riverside with a box of 6, and take it all in. Just don't get powdered sugar all over yourself.
Good point. Maybe if you ask them, they could leave the powdered sugar off your beignets. Otherwise you might want to wear a white shirt, so the powdered sugar will blend in.

This year the free dining bounce back only has the regular dining plan for deluxe resorts. Moderate and value resorts have the quick service plan.

Everyone is different, our family's favorite resort is GF and we would have never thought that before we stayed there. But, with that said, we stay most of the time at Mods with POFQ & POR being our favorite. We just do not feel like the deluxes give us that much more compared to the $$$$ difference, so our deluxe trips are fewer.

As far as I know if you were staying at a Disney resort last FD and booked a Bounce Back offer you should be receiving the Reg. DP which has TS (I booked BB for POR and got Reg. DP). If you booked your package when the FD offer came out online to public (which is not a BB)then you would only get the QS plan, sometime between the BB and the Public FD offer Disney lowered the value of the FD offer. Looks like they are slowly cutting us off. So Sad.

I know WL is a deluxe and POR a moderate, but I really consider them mostly equal. I do think the transportation is better from WL, so when at POR, we'll usually have a car.

My TA confirmed it's the regular dining plan and not the QS dining plan with me the other day. We booked the BB offer through the room - so we are good to go.

You can get the regular dining plan for your BB offer for your 2018 stay, but if you are staying at POR, you will be paying the upgrade charge from QS to regular DDP. For next year I believe it's about $23 per person/ per night. All reliable reports on the FD BB offer for 2018 states that mods are getting the QS plan.

I enjoyed POR both times we stayed there.

One thing I forgot about, though, is the 4 bus stops. In 2012, we were a big family group at the WL. A niece and nephew who were on that trip recently stayed at POR. Comparing transportation, they were not pleased with POR due to the length of time it took to travel within the resort. They were spoiled by the single stop at WL.

Their comments reminded me that the buses don't always go to the stops in the same order, particularly at night for drop-off. Sometimes, they use a different entrance and go through the stops in a whole other order.

It is annoying because you have no way to predict when you are going to get off the bus. Throw in a scooter or two, and it can seem to take forever.

If you like your resort to be 'close to everything' I would book POFQ. Otherwise, pay for a preferred location at POR. The one thing we do not love about POR is that sometimes you have to walk more to get to things. (although Disney is mostly about walking, when I am at my resort I like things to be 'convenient')
