POR River Cruise for kids question

I'm sure that they must be able to make other arrangements for a lunch, or is it so severe that he is at risk being near any peanut product?

They did offer to serve my DD something else in place of the PB&J, but the thought of her on a boat full of kids eating it makes me nervous. They said they would take her EpiPen, but she or her younger sister would have to administer it themselves. Well, she is 8 and her sister is 5. That is not gonna happen. Her allergy is severe enough she breaks out in hives when someone touches her with it. I dunno, it just doesn't seem like something I would want to risk. It is too bad cause she would really like to do it.

That is a bummer! It would be nice for them to either drop the lunch and charge less for the cruise...or come up with a child friendly food that ALL kids can eat. My DS doesn't have allergies, but as a RN who has seen food reactions in kids I know how tough it is...

Do they also serve PB&J on the Pirate cruises???

I've tried the search function but can't find the information I need. Does anyone know what days of the week the new "Jester" POR RIver cruise for kids will be offered. Also, are you making the reservations through CRO or the POR marina? THanks.

To bad the age limit is 11. I'd sign up for this for me!pirate:

FYI, the time has changed to start t 9:30 like the other cruises. Probably found it was too hot to be wearing life vests then. We're signed up for the end of Sept and got a call from a CM about it.

I know when we booked DD's cruise for September they had a 9:30 cruise AND an 11:30 cruise.. so, I think they do two a day.

I'd love to read a review, too, if anyone has one.

Yep, I've checked on all of them. :(

We have foods we cannot eat here, too, and although we don't have life-threatening allergies, I am pretty disappointed in the food choices for all of the kids' activities and most of the restaurants throughout WDW. Fortunately for us, we usually get something special made at TS restaurants due to our special diets, and ds can certainly partake of that...but things are going to be rough when he's old enough to want to do things like the pirate cruise and I have to worry about the food onboard. :(

where did you onginally find out about this cruise?
I saw something on the boards and checked out on allearsnet.com. There isn't much information about it...when I called to check availability of pirate cruises and they were booked...a CM actually mentioned it to me again. She read the computer synopsis (same as allearsnet) and that it departed from POR (which is where we are staying)...so I booked it...

Does this make sense - I didn't sleep well last night and feel jumbled this AM...
