Hello all, just returned from a 6 night stay at Riverside. We checked in on 12/28 at around noon. Our CM wasn't really all that friendly, and he was practically mumbling as he talked to us. I had to stop him and say "whaat?" a few times, lol. I had requested a referbushed (sp??) room in alligator bayou and that's what we got. Yay! :D (It was ready at check in.) We had room 3638, which is pretty much the furthest room from the lobby, but we found the walk to be not bad at all. Our room was brand new, or at least it seemed. New bedspreads, nice stone tile on the floor by the sinks and a nice countertop above the sink. The sinks also looked new. The room had nice mosquito-netting-esque drapery on the (new) lights above the beds. The complimentary fridge is great, really comes in handly. The mattress was fantastic!! I have a bad back so I really appreciate a good bed!! :earboy2: Our location was very quiet and peaceful. An older couple were our neighbors and we didn't hear them once. We didn't use the food court much but we loved the theming. Walking around the resort was so relaxing. It is very beautiful. Something small I noticed was the nice smell here. All of the trees gave off such a great scent. :flower: The bus transportation was adequate, never had to wait too long. Although one night leaving Epcot we had to wait for 4 busses to come by before we got on. All in all, we loved it here! The new rooms are fantastic!

Any questions?

Christine

Thanks for the review!! We are planning a May/ June visit to POR and love to hear all we can about it. Can't wait for a new room!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks for the report - we just got back yesterday from POR and loved it. We stayed in the Mansions and thought the rooms were great. It seemed like the mattresses were brand new. The buses ran fine - one way around the overcrowded POR bus from MK was to take the POFQ bus (which was never full) and then walk back to the Mansions.

Kelmag--We are staying at POR, hopefully the mansions. How long a walk is it from the POFQ bus stop back to the POR Mansions?

:cool1:
Glad you had a good time, were heading down in Feb. and am staying at POR for 1st time. Was wondering if all the buildings are finished renovations yet. We choose 27 and hope it is finished by then.
Glad to hear over all that you liked it.

I believe the buildings closest to the lobby are not finished yet. It seems they will all be done by feb though :D

We were there this past Thursday-Friday Dec 2-3. We were in 24 which had just been re-done. The room even still smelled new.

The building behind 24 was in the process of being re-done. It appeared they were changing out everything....including paint.

The new beds were very comfy!!
