POR Requests

I'm wondering if any one can give us some good advice about room requests.

We have never stayed at POR and want to stay close to the main building. Can you recommend a certain building close to the food court?

Also, can we call the resort to make that building request? Who do we talk to, reservations? We have 3 rooms reserved for next Tuesday for 6 nights.

My in-laws have limited mobility, and I feel funny using that for a medical excuse since we all will be walking miles and miles at the parks, but I just want to minimize the stress any measure I can.

Thank You in advance for helping.

Di.

Hi.. I was just going to post almost the same question, so will add on to yours?!!

We are staying next weekend.. wondering about Bldg #14 in AB vs. #90 in Mansions.. We want to be close to main bldg.. for first bus depot and also, we are big hot tub fans,, so want to be able to have close walk to that also. Isn't the hot tub by the main pool area?

Thanks in advance for any advice! I am also going to post on the POR thread too...

The alligator bayou section is our favorite part of POR (as opposed to the Mansions) My husband has a heart condition and severe arthritis and our requests for rooms are always met. (even though we spend hours in the parks)

Lodges 14, 15 and 18 (in that order) are the closest to the main complex. Lodge 18 is a smoking building if that matters.
You should be able to get 3 rooms in the same lodge. I would insist on a first floor room for your in-laws. (The lodges have rooms on 2 floors)

You should send a clearly stated request in a fax asap if your arriving next Tuesday. (faxes should be sent 3 to 5 days before arrival). Address the fax to "POR Room Assigner". Their fax number is 407-934-5777.

It's a beautiful property. The landscaping is outstanding. Be sure to ride the boat to DTD. Have a great time.

Many of the resorts are frowning on faxes to the room controller. If you want to make requests call CRO and have your preferences noted on your room reservation. I did this on my last trip and it worked out well.

My recent stay at POR was in room 9720 on the second floor in mansion Parterre Place. The "quiet pool" side of this mansion is steps away from the bridge going to the main building/bus stop. There is also a parking lot very close, which is important to us as we like to use our car alot. Our room was renovated and did have the frig in it and there is now a privacy curtain separating the sink area from the sleeping area. The beds were especially comfy with the new mattresses. Our housekeeper, Ricardo, was wonderful, too!

I've also stayed in rooms 9712 & 9715 as I absolutely love this location and the convenience to everything.

We've stayed in Alligator Bayou Buildings 14, 15 and 18. They are all close to the main building and main bus stops. We really liked the location a lot. We had always made our requests through a fax (most recently being in April), but I have heard that calling and asking to have the request noted by CRO is a better way to go. Personally, I like to write down what I'm requesting so I know it won't be translated wrong. I'm not sure what I'll do for our upcoming February trip.
