We are splitting a stay in early Sept. between POR (2 nights) and BCV (4 nights). I remember reading that there were extensive renovations underway at POR. It's been a while since I read that, but are the renovations complete? Were all the buildings renovated? Obviously we'd like to stay in a renovated building v. a non renovated building. Any suggestions on a building we should request? We don't mind walking (no kids and only for 2 days). Our current reservation is for a King room and have requested non-smoking, Mansion, river view. TIA for any help! :earsboy:

I believe it's all done at this point, but I could be wrong. I loved the mansion section. We stayed in Magnolia Terrace, on the second floor, waterview. We had a peek at the river, you had to be outside the room and hanging over the railing to see it though!! So, if you request a riverview, be sure that's what you get. I believe some of the other mansion bldgs may have better riverviews....maybe Partierre Place?? Anyone know for sure??

Just back last night stayed at PO in Alligator Bayou bldg 37- All rooms have been rehabbed and are great- mini frig, nice tile work in the sink area, a very nice addition of a curtain in this area so you can get ready and someone could still be sleeping- we had a great room, great mousekeeper, great location, our room was ready when we got there at 11:30 am-absolutely no complaints here-have fun

Thanks for the info, guys. I think we will like the mini-fridge. In 2004, I stayed at POR for one night with my boss when we missed our plane after a mediation. He's a disney freak, too, so what better way to end 3 days of hell than to get the only available rooms on WDW property in March. I thought it was so pretty and quiet (even in March!!) and wanted to try it out with my DH. We have only stayed at deluxes, so this will be a first. (We thought BC and AKL were OK and loved BCV, BWV & Swan). I think my DH will really like it and will absolutely love the price (AP discount). Thanks again.
