I have read a lot of posts about the rehab that was done at POFQ. Does anyone know if there was a recent rehab at POR also? Also, which resort does everyone like better - POR or POFQ? Thanks.

I was thinking that all the rooms at POR were updated as well, but I am sure someone who knows for sure will chime in. We are headed there in Oct, so I hope they were re-done...

I was at POR over this Spring Break March 2005 and it was renovated. Very nice! I have only stayed at POR so I can't really compare the resorts in depth, but we did visit POFQ to swim in the pool. I liked the appearance of our resort better, it seemed less hotel-ish and more resort like. We also enjoy the breakfasts at Boatwrights, the table service restaurant at POR. POFQ has no sit down restaurant. Lots of people do like the compactness of POFQ over POR although my family has never felt it to be too spread out there. My whole family, ages 7 to 65, love POR. Hope this helps!

The newly renovated rooms at POR are really nice. We've stayed on 2 different weekends since they've finished the rooms. I like the food court at POR better. I love salad and POR has several different ones to choose from. POFQ only had one kind of salad. DS(11) likes the pool better at POR than POFQ. He also likes to fish there, even though he hasn't ever caught anything. We also like the fact that we can see the piano man at POR. The surpreme nachos at the lounge where he plays are fantastic! Next time, I want to try the banana stuffed french toast at Boatwrights. Hope that helps.

POR was renovated a few years ago when it was Dixie Landings (2002?? not exactly sure what year it was). they then changed the name to POR. Then they renovated and completed POFQ in 2004.

they recently upgraded all of the mattresses (so comfortable! :goodvibes, i think that they are pillowtops) and placed free fridges in the rooms instead of being charged daily for it. but, i believe that they did these to all of the moderates and deluxes. not sure about the values, i haven't stayed there yet.

but... i do LOOOOVE POR, as you can tell from my sig. talking about it makes me homesick.. :guilty:

as a matter of fact there is another post with this topic on it that i posted some pictures on if you want to see it... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=839331

good luck! :flower:
