POR - questions from a newbie

Hello POR fans!

Are the quiet pools in the Mansions section heated? I read another posting that stated (at least one) AB quiet pool was not heated. How about the Ol Man Swimmin hole pool?

Also, can you order a pizza 24 hours /day? We will be arriving at around midnight for our stay. Crazy, I know, but this way we'll have an early start for our first real day!

We will be at POR for 1st time in Oct., so I've researched it a little. We will also be arriving late - we should get to POR about 11:30-11:45 pm. If you haven't found it already, www.allearsnet.com has a lot of information and pictures. Unfortunately, the one answer I couldn't find was whether the pools are heated. Maybe someone else can help with this? I believe pizza is only available till midnight, so don't know if you'll make it. Have fun anyways!

I believe all the pools at the resorts are heated to 85 degrees. There is no 24 hour pizza delivery at POR, I think its only until 11-12. You will love POR, it's one of our favorite places to stay!!!

I love PORS and stayed in the mansions for 8 days last Nov. 2003. It was cool several nights when I was there and the main pool on Ole Man Island was heated but the quiet pool in between Magnolia Terrace and Parterre Place was not, it was quite cool. The main pool is a nice size and never felt over crowded and the hub tub was hot and did its job in soothing your overwalked feet and legs at the end of the day. I love staying there and hope that you have a great vacation.

P.S. - Pizza orders stop either at 11 or 11:30 p.m. at night. Food Court is also closed up by midnight as well.

The main pool is heated but the quiet pools are not so enter at your own risk! I was there in December last year and I must say, it was quite chilly in the private pool!

The quiet pool near Building 17 in the Alligator Bayou section was heated last November when we used it. Can't vouch for the Mansion section, but can't imagine why some quiet pools would be heated while others were not.

Well, the must only turn the heaters on in the winter months, we were there in April, and the quite pool in AB was COLD. Sunnygirl, I would dip my toes before diving in head first...lol. Have fun on your trip, we LOVE POR, it's a great resort!
