Por Pool Refurbishing?

OK Here is the official scoop i received tonight about the pool. I spoke to kim at the front desk and she said that there is no construction going on at the pools. There is construction going on at the playground area and a wall is up around it during this time. The playground construction will be complete sometime in September. So great news for all us pool people but bad news for the kids who like the playground.

Thanks for calling! I was going to do the same today, but now we have the scoop! My kids will be disappointed, but at least we have the pool and I think in mid-August, that's more important! Thanks again for calling!!

Thanks to everyone for looking into it (esp. Pirate4). I just posted my inquiry yesterday and less than 24 hours later - I have my answer. I appreciate that. I'm also glad for all our sakes that the pool remains open. Sorry for the scare. This Disney bloodline is the best.

I hope you all have a great time. We will be there the day after Thanksgiving (our favorite time to go) for the week & cannot wait. It is our first stay @ POR and I know we will love it.

I'm glad i can help I was a little worried when I heard about the pool. I had to jump on getting the correct information. We are going with our two boys ages 9 & 10. Its a supprise and they think we are just going to the jersey shore for the week. They might figure it out when we need to go to the airport. Its hard kept secret because I'm so excited to go.

I just broke the news to my kids that the playground will be unaccessible- and their response was " so what we'll be in the pool the whole time anyway!" So it won't be missed by our family either!

Was it a big playground? My kids would not have gone on it anyway probably, but I wonder if the fences will be an eyesore. Probably not and that is not my major complaint on a vacation! Just wondering.

funny, I just saw a pic of the playground for the first time a few days ago and thought it looked like one of those big garden tie wooden things that would hold bigger kids, the kind you find at public parks a lot of times ya know? It looked okay so far as size but a bit dated. so hopefully by September when we go, we will get to see a nice shiney newer fun play area.

I mean it really must be hard to find a "good" time to do such a thing huh? (how about the AKL stuff?!) hot times when no one wants to play seems about as good as it gets.

62 more sleeps for my kiddos until we fly to Disney! woo-hoo to play!!

Glad it's not the pool, but my kids do enjoy the playground. We are going Aug 26 to Sept 5. See you all there.
