Just wondering if anyone had comments on how the food is at these resorts? I'm mostly interested in CS, but would love to hear about the TS as well.

What's good choices and items to avoid?

Is it a pain to get take out from DTD and bring it back to the resort if we wanted to have an in-room picnic for dinner? I wondered because I know there's a boat that goes to DTD.

Also, I heard there was a jazz or piano bar here-is that true?

Thanks!:goodvibes

I really like the create-your-own-salad at POR's food court. The ingredients are fresh and the salads are good. It's like a salad bar, but you tell the cm what you want and they will make the salad for you. Overall, the food court is pretty good. The only item we weren't impressed with is the large pizza, but we've had it on previous trips so we knew what to expect. You can order a pizza from off-site, though it's just easier to go to the food court to get it. We brought our pizza to Muddy Rivers (pool bar) to eat it and that was a good place for a quick lunch.

Breakfast at Boatwright's is awesome!

I've stayed at POR and the food there was lovely.

1. The boat ride from DTD takes around 20-30 mins so probably not a good idea to get takeaway. I would go for takeaway from the CS in resort

2. There's a jazz bar over at POFQ and a piano bar at POR both of which are nice. The piano bar is bigger and I believe is the only one that offers appertisers (which it has a limited range) but you can also bring food in from the CS to either bar.

3. Breakfast - My fave thing at POR is the Make-Your-Own Yoghurt but you can also do a Make-Your-Own Musilli/Cereals/Oatmeal. They have a whole selection of fruit and nuts you can add to any of these and its great! Also they do really good breakfasts and nice pancakes. If you buy bread from the shop or from the bakery section of the food court (they also do bagels etc here that are great) there is a toaster and butter etc is free over on the condiment stand so this is always an option. I sometimes get 2 peices of bread and a portion of bacon and make a toast sandwich with the bacon. Yummy with steak sauce.

4. Lunch - Again great Make-Your-Own options for both salad and pasta! All really nice. They can also make a grilled cheese sandwich on the burger stand even though it is not on the menu!

5. Dinner - Really good burgers. My Dad likes the Pot Roast they do there.

6. Boatwrights - this is the TS in POR and I've only eaten here for dinner though the breakfast menu looks fantastic. The evening menu was good. The ravioli was really nice and the bread was good.

Great for breakfast/lunch counter service. Unfortunately Boatwrights has been my least favorite of all TS meals at Disney. Maybe it was just a bad night, but service was slow and meal was too spicy and just "OK". Didn't get a drink until after meal had arrived. With all that said, POR has been at the top of my places to stay. The pool slide is awesome!

We stayed at POR this past Sept, and ate several times at the food court, but never at Boatright's.

The food court food was good, I thought. Typical cafeteria food for the most part. In particular, I liked the burgers, and Dh really liked the make-your-own pasta they have (although it took forever to make). The bakery is really good, and has fresh-baked cookies, ice cream sundaes, etc.

I think it would be a pain to get food from DTD as take-out. The boat down there probably takes a good 15-20 minutes, and that's after you board (figure a wait to board as well, unless you time it really well).

We stayed at POFQ and only went into the Float Works food court. Everything was okay, but they were very limited on options for Vegetarians. Luckily we just went for snacks.

We stayed at POR a few times and love the breakfast. We were there for a week (Hurricane Wilma evacuation) and ate dinner there alot, it was awesome but that was before they redid the area and changed the menu
