Does POR and POFQ share the same buses? How good is the bus service for these two resorts?

They have different buses, because they are different hotels.

At times, they may share them for water parks, or downtown disney, like other resorts do.

But for the 4 major parks, they have their own independent transporataion. :earsboy: :earsboy:

I could be wrong but I think I remember last time I stayed at POR when POFQ was open the two did share busses with POFQ getting picked up first.

When we stayed at Riverside in June 2002 the buses were shared with French Quarter. The only park that had a separate stop was MK. In the mornings, the busses may have been for each individual resort (i.e. the POFQ bus only continued to Riverside if it didn't fill up at POFQ) but at night they were always shared with POFQ being the first stop.

I would count on the busses being shared.

Dittoes. Even when they were two seperate hotels (we stayed in the original Port Orleans) in 2000 it shared buses with Dixie Landing.

So, when the bus leaves POR it goes straight to which ever of the 4 parks it is serving, right? How early do they run on EE mornings?

We stayed at French Quarter last March.

French Quarter was the first pickup for the bus. It would then go to Riverside in either of these 2 routes.

1. Loop around the 3 outside bus stops, I think the route was West Depot, North Depot, East Depot then the Main Depot - then head to the park.

or
2. Main Depot, then West, North, East then head to the Park.

Yes, the only Park that had a separate French Quarter (when leaving) was Magic Kingdom, but this was not all the time. You need to look at the signs.

All other parks, Downtown, etc. share the French Quarter, Riverside stop.

I liked staying at the FQ, because you were always the first to be picked up and the first to be dropped off.

Enjoy your stay. Both resorts are great, and we've stayed in both.

:) :)

When we stayed at POFQ about 4 years ago, they shared buses. POFQ was always picked up first and let off first. We always had a seat. If the bus was not full, it would pick up POR- and most of the time people from POR ended up standing. If the bus was already full, we went straight to the parks. The service at POFQ was excellent- never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. We were there during THanksgiving week, so we didn't travel to POR but once or twice b/c they were already full.
Personally, I would think POFQ would be better- first to be picked up and first to be dropped off!
