Just wanted to get some personal feedback on this. We have 3 kids 4,6,8 and all three would want to do it. For those that have done this is it a good value for the money? And are all the pirate cruises pretty much the same or is there one thats better. I'm thinking about POR, cause we're staying there.

sorry, have been to resort many many times and you know what I have never seen it ONCE, strange huh???:confused3

Shameful BUMP and maybe someone else will see and respond! Good Luck, I am curious myself!

We just did the pirate cruise for our 5, 7 & 8 year olds and they had a great time. I think it is worth the money. A few years ago we did the one that left from the Grand Floridian, but I would do the cruise from POR since you are already there. The crew who took the pirates out were all real nice. There were alot of little boys and a few girls, I think my daughter who is almost 9 would probably not go again, just because there were so many more kids younger than her. There was a family with two boys who were much older (maybe 10 and 13) and the boys ended up backing out because it is really geared toward younger kids.

My boys did the GF when they were 4 and 5
THey did the POR when they were 5 and7.
They loved it both times.
They intend to do it in DEC when we go back.
They will be 6 and 8.
(They don't know we are going in June, so I didn't book it!)

We are allowing our now 5yr old ds to participate in the Bayou Pirate Cruise on May 12th. I know that most everything that Disney does is worth the money, although some are a little pricey. I know that he will love the idea of treasure hunting, and being able to do it on his own (w/o mom & dad), since he is now 5, is a big deal for him. I will do a mini report when we return, and let you know what he thought.

The pirate cruise out of POR was cool. My son 5 went and had fun. There was definately more younger children there (4-6 I would guess), more boys then girls, and 2 or 3 children that already knew each other. My son was the only one that was going alone, which made me sad..but he found a family of 5 that were very friendly to him..and took him as their brother. It was very nice, as I was worried that he would feel alone..but the staff was great also. He loved the lunch, and had fun finding the clues and getting the treasure. I thought the amount for the cruise was fine..don't know if I would do again, as the thrill will probably be gone.
