We've narrowed it down. My DH wants to stay at the WL standard rate with a code. Trouble is they don't have the avail. untill sunday 12/8. POR has avail on Saturday 12/7. So which resort should I pick? We could come in on either day, so it just comes down to the Resort.
What do you think?

My daughter said the cutest thing...I was asking her where she'd like to stay, POR or WL. She asked which one had the Crocodile Nearyou section, and which had the gyser. Thank goodness I was driving, so she couldn't see me trying not to laugh! So cute.

We had the same dilema this year. POR or WL and we finally decided on the WL. We were able to get a good rate at the WL and since we only get out to WDW every now and then we couldnt pass up staying at a deluxe. And remember that you will be there in December so the WL will have their christmas decorations up and that is a plus, you could request a room off of the lobby so everytime you open your door you will see the huge christmas tree and lights. I might consider the POR over the WL, but with a good rate, and with it being december, stay at the WL you cant beat the atmosphere. But thats only my opinion, either resort will be wonderful.

We love both those resorts:D ! But being Dec. I would chose the WL for the Christmas decor. We had a woodsview room last Dec. and really loved sitting out on the balcony at night, and midday. You could book the dates and try to add 12/7. It may very well open up as it gets closer:D ! Enjoy.

Thank you for the input! WL it is, and I'll try to add the 7th. I f I get the 7th at a higher rate, like a courtyard view, we'd have to move to another room with a standard view, right? My DH won't spend the extra for a courtyard view and the others are booked up for the 7th, but ya never know...I'll keep trying.

What price level is a lobby room?

thanks

From what I have gathered from the WL FAQ thread, there are standard view lobby rooms on floors 4 5 and 6. I am going to request one of those above the check in desk. I guess the view from your room is mostly roof tops, but oh well, these are supposed to be the quieter of the standard view lobby rooms. What day do you check out on? =) Are you doing bunkbeds or no? We get there on the 14th of December, we might be next door to eachother.

Thanks for the info! We will just miss you, we're out on the 12th.
Enjoy your stay, we are so excited!

WE've only stayed at the FQ in PO so I could say about the rest but we stayed at the WL in Dec and LOVED it. We had a standard room and could see the fireworks at the MK!!!!:bounce:

Christmas decor there is the BEST!!! I have 2 girls (9mon and 4yrs then) they LOVED it too!!! I have pictures of my 9 mounth old crawling around the lobby in her jammies when she woke at 6am and daddy and sister were still sleeping.

The 4 yr old could have followed the stream and wandered the grounds all day if we let her!

Enjoy December it's wonderful!!

jldr...do you remember what room number you had or where it was in the hotel, we are going to have a standard view room also and are looking for general room numbers, did you hear any of the famous beeping from the service area?

We have stayed at both and far preferred PO-R. We had less problems with the transportation, it was quieter, and the rooms seemed about the same size... even though WL's are slightly bigger, the furniture is oversized, making it feel cramped. The theming at PO-R was also prettier. WL was too dark and masculine for my taste. For the money, definitely PO-R!!!!
