POR or POFQ?

We leave for the land of the mouse 11/3. We have reservations at POR for our 6 night stay. Now I am wondering if we shouldn't check on POFQ instead after reading some of your comments. I know you can use the facilities at either resort but the coziness of POFQ is starting to sound appealing. We were unable to get a room at our fav resort WL for this trip and POFQ sounds like it might have the same feel as WL, ie when we walk into WL we immediately feel like we are on vacation. Any comments?

We love POR. Have stayed there 3X in 3 years. The Alligator Bayou section is our favorite (we found it cozier) but others will say they love the mansions. I have never stayed at FQ, but we did walk over there to eat at their food court, and I did find that they had more of a selection of food. FQ grounds are gorgeous but IMHO, they cant beat the POR landscaping. I think you'd enjoy both.You cant go wrong with either. I did, BTW stay at WL, didnt like it, thats just an opinion, take it w/ a grain.....enjoy your trip

I just returned from 2 days at POFQ and we loved it! It was very cozy, the theme was great and my 5 year old DD loved the pool. It was very relaxing! I went to POR to see Bob Jackson the pianoman at the River Roost. I would say that the food court at POR had a better selection and you didn't have to deal with POFQ's giant clowns staring at you. But ... POR is a very big resort. You may get stuck in the back far away from the food court and the feature pool. Both CSR and CBR have the same problems. If I were to stay in a moderate again, I would pick POFQ over all the others because of the pervasive New Orleans theme and the smallness of the resort.

We also stayed at the WL on this last trip (in the villas) and I also love that resort .

I've stayed at both and loved both. Both are beautiful and great! We prefer POFQ for a couple of reasons:
1. The smallness of the resort- never a far walk from buses, food court, main building, or pool. THis is a biggie for us as I have two small children and my mother has health problems!
2. I don't know- I like the food court at POFQ better. Both are good, but I think the beignets gave POFQ the edge.
3. Buses- the resorts share buses, but POFQ is always picked up first and dropped off first. Meaning, you always have a seat in the mornings and are dropped off first at night.

You will be happy with either. It just depends on what you're looking for. If you choose POR, be sure to find a map of the resort and request a building closer to the bus stop and food court.

POFQ all the way. I have two DDs age 5 and 9 and this is our favorite resort. Everything is close no matter what building you are in. We of course always take the boat to POR but its always nice to comeback to peaceful POFQ. I will be there very soon (see countdown below). Good luck. I think you will like either one you choose. We are just FQ fans.

My vote is for the POFQ as well...it's our favourite resort for all of the reasons mentioned above. You can get a countdown timer here.
