Hello! I'd like some advice and pros/cons for both Port Orleans resorts as we begin to plan our next trip for September 2018. We did CBR last year and loved it, but I'm not too keen on staying there next year with all of the expected construction. It will be a group of ten with 2 eight-year-olds, a four-year-old, and a year-and-a-half old. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

We like both resorts, but prefer POFQ because it has only one bus stop. We did not like having to make the loop and stop at multiple stops when we stayed at POR. We also like the food court at POFQ better. I don't think you can really go wrong with either one! They both also have nice pools and you are allowed to use the pool at either resort.

These are our 2 favorite Mods with POFQ being our #1 favorite. We really like the brick streets and the theme of the resort, the wrought iron filigree on the buildings etc. Our DDs like the horse posts that line the streets and the alligator musicians. We actually like the FC at POR with the pasta bar etc. a bit better. But POFQ does have the beignets:) We do like the fact that it only has 1 bus stop, but we never had an issue with POR having multiple stops, we are talking 5 extra minutes which is no big deal to us. Plus; during slower times POFQ bus will also go to POR to pick up and drop off. Since you loved CBR, you must not have an issue with multiple stops either. We like both of the pools, how they weave in and out and they're not just a big open pool. DDs like the pool slide better at POR, but POFQ has the new splash area for smaller kids, I believe 48'' and smaller. We like yeeHaa Bob at POR and you also have to go there if you want to rent bikes or do a carriage ride. I would go to this site http://www.portorleans.org/ and look at all the info and photos to decide. I will say that POR is usually a little bit cheaper and has a much better chance of having a discount then POFQ.

POR is much bigger and more spread out. It can take several minutes to walk from your room to the main building, and those extra several minutes can be a pain at the end of the day when you're tired. I did like the "compactness " of POFQ, and loved being able to pop over and get a drink with my refillable mug.

But given the choice, I prefer POR. The food court is much better, with the make-your-own pasta and salad options. Didn't like the food court at FQ at all; far fewer choices. The only thing I liked at FQ was the beignets.

I was never really a fan of the food at POFQ either, but we stayed there last month and we were impressed with the new food offerings. They also have make your own pasta at lunch and dinner now. :)

I've stayed at both and really love both, you can't go wrong with either choice! I like the pool at POR better but you can use both resort's pools but I've never done that. POR is quiet and even though there is more walking, it's sooooo beautiful! POFQ's theming is very cool and being a smaller resort has obvious advantages. The option to take a boat to DS is always on the "Pro List" for me.

We like both but give a bit of an edge to Riverside because we love staying at the mansion section. We have just returned and did visit the new food court at French Quarters. It was very impressive with a much better selection than the food court at Riverside. The good thing is it is such a short walk between resorts. I don't think you can go wrong whichever you select. We are also planning our next trip in September 2018. That's the best thing to do when you just return from a trip! Have fun!

I really enjoyed riverside because the Royal rooms were just so magical, but if you want a smaller resort you should definitely choose FQ it is the smallest Disney resort.

Thanks everyone for your input! I'll take all of this into consideration!!!
