POR or POFQ?

Personally, I prefer POR because of the theming of the resort and I also like having the full service restaurant on site. I have also stayed at POFQ and loved it. POFQ is a much smaller resort and only has a food court. But really, it's mostly just a question of what theming appeals to you the most. You'll enjoy either!

Yes, they are very different.

There is a dedicated website called portorleans.org, with an official thread for each resort maintained by the same person who has the website.

I would check them out and see which one you would prefer.

Thanks! I'll go check it out! :thumbsup2

Two different resorts. POFQ small, easy to get around a walk from POR and it's food court, lusch grounds and entertainment. You can't go wrong as both are really one. This pair is almost better than a Deluxe so enjoy!

We love POFQ, but Riverside was good too. We like the smaller, more intimate setting of FQ. And the walk from one resort to the other means you can take advantage of the TS dining if you care to. Also there is a boat that goes between the two resorts then on to DTD that we especially enjoy.

Both resorts are beautiful. We are a swimming family and we enjoy the Riverside pool a little more because of the playgrounds around the island. They are great for littler ones especially (under 10)

I never thought about it before, but I guess Riverside is a little bigger. It seems like you are more secluded there because things are farther apart. Last time we took a bicycle for four around the grounds and had a delightful time.

We've stayed at POFQ 3 times and Riverside once. Riverside is much bigger than FQ. I really enjoyed Riverside, but I know my parents who are older and have mobility issues would not stay there again (unless they could get a preferred room). We had what is considered a pretty good room location (Garden view, riverside in Magnolia Terrace), and it was still too hard for my Dad. If being close to the main lobby/food court and bus stop is important to you... I would definitely pay for the preferred rooms if you decide on Riverside. I have noticed it is much harder to get any sort of discount at FQ.....

I will say that my kids (ages 5 and 7) probably liked Riverside a little more.

Good luck deciding! You'll enjoy either resort!

I prefer POR .... POFQ is New Orleans themed (More of an urban feel to it) and smaller/centralized whereas POR is more of a rural theme and more spread out ... I personally prefer the Alligator Bayou Section of POR but the Mansions sections are nice too.

we stayed at POFQ, for the first part of our honeymoon a month ago and we loved it, we picked it because it is a smaller resort for less crowds, but yes the food options there are very limited thou.

I have also stayed in riverside too and enjoyed it a lot also, I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in a resort, something a bit more quite or a place that may have more stuff to see and do at it

POFQ is our love! We stayed at POR in 2006 and again in 2011 (due to a discount pin code and availability). POR is lovely and gorgeous! But the intimacy of POFQ get us back every time. We love the pool at POFQ and the smallness of the resort. Either way you go, it's a winner!
:thumbsup2
