POR or AOA?

Due to the heartbreak of construction of CSR, I'm researching other resorts for our vacay next year. After scouring the boards, I've narrowed it down to POR and AOA. We're a family if 3 with my son being 8. I initially eyed AOA because I thought my son would love it. I picked POR because I'm kind of a moderate snob and I love that it's pretty quiet (well it was at CSR).

Please help me decide?

I'd go with POR but I'm not a fan of the value resorts. AoA is a cute resort but in the end it is a value resort that costs as much as a moderate and can cost as much as a deluxe. POR is a peaceful, pretty resort, my favorite of all the moderate resorts.

If I were selecting, POR, hands down! It has great theming, lots of amenities and entertainment, and yet can be peaceful at the same time!

I have stayed at both. They both have a lot to offer. The theming at AoA may be over the top for some but is tremendously fun IMO. Walking around the resort taking photos with all the larger than life character statues makes you feel like you are at an attraction. I prefer the transportation at AoA because there is a singular bus stop and the lines make it feel more orderly and less like a free for all. I didn't think AoA felt loud or chaotic and I never had a problem getting a table at the food court, even during peak dining hours in June. However, POR offers a slightly larger room with queen beds that are significantly more comfortable. POR is a prettier resort while AoA is cartoon-y. The standard rooms at AoA are the farthest from the main building (although I didn't think the walk was that bad). If you choose to stay in a suite, you will have considerably more space but the cost will be MORE than a moderate and would be more comparable to one of the cheaper deluxes like WL or AKL. I don't think the space is worth paying for with two adults and an 8 year old. Both resorts are great in their own way and I think both are worth trying once!

I think we may go with POR. like I said, I'm kind of a moderate snob lol Plus my sister and her kids are thinking of tagging along now and she's thinking of AOA since she has 5 kids. Yes, 5. So we could always hop on over there and take in the scenery
