Having a hard time deciding on this. I can save 30% at POR or pay rack rate for AoA (little mermaid rooms) but still save $150. Do you save cash with AoA or upgrade to POR since it's "only" $150 more??

- I have a 4 year old and 1 year old. I'd like to try POR for the queen beds and water slide.
- AoA on the other hand is obviously new and a fun theme for my 4 year old.
- The walk seems potentially far at both since I'm not able to book preferred at either.

I really would love to try both. What are your thoughts on both choices?

Do you have AAA? There are some dates where you can get a AAA discount on AOA. The rooms are larger at AOA because they are suites. You would also get a microwave and two bathrooms. I would go for AOA and save the money, but that is just me and I am very cheap. Lol. Good luck with your decision.

Oops...just saw that you are looking at the LM rooms. Those are not suites and you wouldn't have two bathrooms. I am not sure they have microwaves either. In that case, it is a bit more of a wash to me. I think you would have to go with which theme you like best. Sorry about that. You may still want to try and see if you can get a AAA discount though.

OP- did your offer for 30% include AOA? Just curious, as I didn't realize any discounts were being offered for there. Thanks

No, I meant that I had 30% off I can use at POR. AoA isn't included in the pin code. So I'd have to pay rack rate for AoA, but it's still actually cheaper.

I really wanted to stay at AoA this year, but DH isn't really wanting to spend the money to stay at what is likely to be a packed resort. We are opting for POFQ this fall and hoping for free dining...which most likely wouldn't be offered at AoA..making POFQ a better deal. So long as I'm at Disney...I don't care where we stay!

I recently booked at aoa lm rooms and used AAA got 10% off I asked about additional discounts and cnpm said they only do that to fill rooms she said there is no problem with that at this time that they were getting alot of takers

I would choose AoA based on the age of your children. I would save a visit to POR for when they are older, able to use the pool slides and need the space that a queen-size bed will give them.

But I do agree with the others that said to try for a AAA discount if you're a member. It might only be 10% but that's still money in your pocket.:thumbsup2

Based on my convos with various cast members, there are no discounts available on the LM standard rooms. Not even cast member discounts, so I highly doubt you can get a AAA discount. (You can get discounts on the AoA suites though) For me, I would let your DD choose.

I think you are correct. I called and got a 10% off quote for the suites but it was only about a $5 difference on the LM rooms. My DD loves the look of the LM rooms but wants the waterslide of POR  My DH wants POR to try out a mod. but I'm not sure it's worth the $150 extra. I would have chosen POFQ personally but it's not available. Seriously considering booking both and then canceling one (POR is already booked because of the pin code) but thinking that sounds a little crazy.

Why don't you stay at AOA and vist por i would think your kids are gonna be to small for slide but i could be wrong.

What is the height minimum on the slides? I wouldn't be taking my 1 year old, but I figure if my 4 year old could ride Splash Mt. she should be able to ride the slide!

I honestly don't know I'll see if I can find out for you

i would go with POR.

here is a link to an article on family fun there, if you look at the pool photo you can see a very small child going down the slide, i remember seeing kids in swimmies going down and being picked up so im sure at 4 she can use it:

they both may also enjoy the boat ride to DTD and the pool at POFQ which you can use and has the giant tongue slide.
