POR or AKL?

We have stayed at both, and love them both.

AKL is great for its uniqueness and food options.

POR is great for the boat ride to DS and the ability to walk over to POFQ for beignets and gumbo!

Either way, you will have a great time!

Looking at the spring discount, it is a 300.00 difference to stay at AKL resort view vs. POR. It is me, DH and DD (13). We have one day at MK, one at AK, and two at Seaworld/DC. We have two evenings where we would like to eat dinner at DS. Sanaa is one of our favorite restaurants and we love animals.
POR- pros- Boat to DS, lovely walking grounds (AKL seems more confined?), cheaper, fifth sleeper (I am a blanket hog and on vacation, sometimes we like to sleep on separate spaces, but too small?)
cons- loud AC, busy hot tub, far walk to amenities (but I requested a room that is closer and we don't mind walking)

AKL- pros- animals, Sanaa, quiet AC, balcony, more options for swimming/hot tubs?, atmosphere
Cons- long hallways, pricier

Even with white noise, I am a light sleeper. Sleep is most important on trip, hence the AC concern.

I am leaning towards keeping POR due to proximity to DS. How are busses from AKL to DS? Or we could uber, I suppose. TIA!

AKV is one of our most favorite resorts! It is farther out but worth it for us.

If you have never stayed at AKL than I would pick AKL. It is definately the most unique resort, especially with a SV. Balcony or inside hallways are not really a benefit for our family, except at AKL where we liked having a balcony with a SV, so great to watch the animals from the balcony. We also love the 2 PO resorts and find the themes to be fantastic with the river, carriages and boat to DS.

AKL is so great, but plan a day just to hang out around the resort.

We've stayed at both several times. We are doing a split stay this March to celebrate our 35th anniversary staying at Grand Floridian for 4 days and then AKL for the remaining 4 days. This trip we are staying at GF just to check off one my girl's bucket list items. As much as we like AKL, POR is our favorite resort even over the deluxes. AKL certainly has a lot to offer, but the Mansion rooms at Por just call to us. We also love to take the boats to Dis Springs. Also Yehaw Bob is a great time for the family if you havent done that yet.
