Hi

Just booked for September trip, looking at the map, Oak Manor seems central to all things. I think it is closest to South Depot (which I believe is the first bus stop in resort), close to dining area and pool also.

Can anyone who has stayed there tell me about it. Would like to know about room, length of walk to main building, bus, etc. Should I have chosen Alligator Bayou, Building 14 (not crazy about decor) or something in Magnolia Bend?

Would hate to have buyer's remorse.

Thanks.

If I were to stay at POR again Oak Manor is where I would request, more specifically the south side of Oak Manor. We stayed at Partrere Place twice in '06 and it was great, however we had to walk toward Oak Manor to cross the bridge over the river and both stays we went to the quiet pool to do laundry on our last day and let the kids swim which is adjacent to the south side. More specifically, I would ask for an interior courtyard view room on the south side of Oak Manor for quiet just in case some kids are at the pool at night. Regarding a south Depot, I don't think there is a South Depot. It would be most convenient to the main Depot at the lobby area. The first stop is usually at POFQ then over to POR and the East Depot is last before going to the parks. This is of course depending on how busy it is. Hope that helps.:thumbsup2

I stayed in Oak Manor and thought it was a great location. I was not far from the bridge, so it was about a 5 minute walk over to the food court, and just a minute or two more to the bus stop there. I also used the East Depot in the evenings because it was not far from where my room was located, I was closer to Magnolia Terrace than I was to Parterre Place.
I did not use the main pool but I did walk over to check it out and again it was about a 5 minute walk. Their was a quiet pool between Oak manor and parterre Place which was very convenient, I used that pool. There was a laundry facility right there too, so I could sit and read my book by the pool while I waited for my laundry to get done.
