Mansions: Rooms are very pretty, more formal and victorian/feminine, buildings are beautiful and have lovely gardens. We enjoyed our upper level water view rooms looking over the resort. The quiet pools are nice, but we never used, more like upscale apt pools. Seemed to be lots of couples and adults when we were out walking.
AB: Rooms are rustic and have the cabin feel. We loved our corner first floor stays overlooking the quiet pool (although you couldn't see for greenery) and the bog. Loved walking around the paths and bogs and bridges, great landscaping. Quiet pools were free form and great for quick dips. More families and one reason may be the trundle beds.
Either way it is a great resort with relaxed southern charm and be sure to cruise all over no matter where you stay.

Thanks for the detailsKaiya said:We just got home Apr. 4. We had originally requested bldg 14 -AB with no preference for a water view room, but when we arrived we were put in Parterre Place- Mansions room 9715. It was beatiful, with a view of the quiet pool. It was on the second floor and was very convenient to get to the main bldgs. Just a quick walk across the bridge and we were there in a few minutes.
Then, because we were heading to Royal Pacific at Universal for one night in the middle of our week (for the FOTL passes -which were great), we had to check back into POR. My bil had mentioned when we checked out the first time that we'd be back and would like to stay in bldg 14 AB if possible. Well, we got bldg 14 - room 1447 with what the cast member said was one of the best views in the resort, a full view of the Sassagoula ,right above the white sandy beach where kids fished and played. It was a perfect location, 30 second walk to the main bldgs, with no extra waterview cost. We loved it- but I still have a hard time deciding which was my favourite section. I'd recommend both and would be happy to stay in either of these bldgs again because of their close proximity to the main bldgs and bus depot.
Just remembered one little thing - we're used to staying at our family's cabin quite a bit, so the AB wasn't too different from what we're used to - the mansions were something new. Just something to think about![]()
