POR How long of a walk?

I've seen so many threads about requesting rooms close to the pool and main building. I'm wondering how far of a walk will it be, say if we end up getting the furthest building from it all? Is it really that bad? TIA

I stayed at AB Bldg 37 (in between bus stops) in January, despite my faxed room request, and then another room request during checking when I found I was staying "far away". So, like you I was concerned that I'd have to "hike" to meals, busses, etc.

It was about an 8 minute walk to breakfast in the AM. The walk was lovely - past some AB buildings, ducks, bunnies and general wildlife. Crossed over the bridge to Ole Man Island, past the Fishin' Hole and Pool. Over the other bridge and there I was.

POR is awesome. Enjoy!

8 Minutes... whew! LOL the way everyone talked I was getting a bit worried. 8 minutes is nothing. Granted closer would be better, but I think we can handle that. Thanks for the info, now I can relax... a little.

We toured this resort before deciding to stay, and even from the farthest rooms we didn't feel the walk was that far.

After reading postings on this board, I had become concerned about the same issue at CBR before we stayed there last year. Once we got there, we found that even the farthest walk, from Trinidad South, wasn't that bad.

Pushing a stroller, carrying a child, or a walking disability, could make it more of a challenge. But for a family such as ours that is reasonably active, and the kids are old enough to walk, it wasn't an issue at CBR, and the distance seemed even closer at POR.

One evening we had to make the walk in the pouring rain and it was unpleasant, however, still a manageable walk from any part of the resort.
