we are staying in july at por and we are very excited!!! quick qestion...is there a rental car desk on this property? we are traveling with dd's dance troop and are arriving on a charter tour bus from the airport and they will take us to all group events and outings. but we are on our own the rest of the time. it would be a waste of $$$ to rent a car for 8 days when we would need it for maybe 4 days. im hoping that there is, it would make life easier!!! thanks!!!--maria
National rent a car has a rental building on WDW property over near MK- the front desk at POR can arrange for you to get in touch with them (or you can call them directly before even leaving home) to make rental car arrangements and they will send their little shuttle bus to come get you right at the resort so that you can get to the on property rental building and get a rental car
We did this when we lived up north and had come down on our honeymoon ( we also stayed at POR-R btw). We had made reservations with National ahead of time so I don't know if that would affect availibility at all. You may want to call before leaving just to double check. But we didn't rent the car until the end of our stay as we didn't need it until the end when we left for Vero Beach Resort. If you won't be leaving WDW property though, you can always use WDW transportation for free.
