The Medicine Show Arcade is found in the main building. This is a large space with over 70 games that include classics like Pac-Man, air hockey, and ski ball, as well as, racing, sports, and grab games. There are only 7 violent games in this arcade and they are labeled with a yellow sticker. Many of the games are appropriate for all ages and they have a green label. Instead of using tokens or quarters you purchase “points” on a rechargeable card that is used to play the wide variety of games available here.

Any idea how many points you get for what amount? How many points do games cost?

Normally, I think you get 100 points a dollar, something like that.

Most of the games you will find will cost you on the low range about 50 points, up to 250 points on some of the top end games. It's much harder to remember how much you're spending when they do the points, sometimes in the heat of battle you forget you're spending 2.50 on ever replay.

Most of the arcade games however will probably be between 50 and 100 points. Sometimes you'll find something for 25 points, but that's normally the really old games (like the original baseball games from the 1930's), although I love the baseball game and always get a good 5 minutes on it...lol.

Also, because of the way it's setup, you always seem to end up with points left over on your card. Since you're buying in advance, you never exactly know how long you'll be able to play (especially if you're sneaking out of the room early in the morning while the wife and baby are getting ready....lol). So if you have any leftover points, be sure to either keep them somewhere safe, or if it's your last day in Disney, pay it forward and give it to some kid as suprise gift (I do this at least once or twice a trip...lol).

Oh, and you can recharge the cards, so if you do run out of money (which is easy cause sometimes the games really eat up your points), you don't need to keep on getting a new card. You can use that card the length of your stay.

This is some friendly advice from someone that has been playing in Disney arcades since 1977, and loves them!!! I still try to make at least 1 or 2 arcade trips per trip, normally in the morning when everyone is getting ready (although the sneak out right before dinner one is great too, they always love hearing me talk about how many aliens I blasted at dinner...lol).
