Hello all,
I swore this year, I was not going to be the one..yelling at my slightly irritated dbf " No!!! Don't eat that yet, I have to take a picture!" However, jabead. emmysmommy and Mr. Donald Dole Whip's reviews have inspired me to once again, do some food porn.
So anyway, let me introduce our eating team!
Me: Disney lover extraordinaire. Fell in love with Disney at the ripe young age of 27ish and have gone at least once a year ever since. Disney is my happy place! Love food, love eating food...and occasionally love cooking food. A moderate foodie. Love good food with lots of flavor, however a peruvian tiger licked squash flower, accompanied by pistil of squash flower foam on a bed of charred essence of chanterelle..may not be my level of "foodie" ness
Dbf - Ummm, let's just say ...My dbf and Mickey are not tight! They're not buds! I would say closer to casual acquaintances. However DBF is a wonderful man and ahem..."sacrifices" himself and makes the trips with me.
As far as food goes...Dbf is pretty much the same as me..only in larger quantities. The difference is ...THE BOY CAN COOK! He's just one of those that can throw things together and it comes out phenomenal! I'm a lucky lucky girl!
Ladies...listen up...the secret is true. The way to a man's heart is through is stomach.
Let me clarify, ...the sacrificing dbf does apparently entitles him to 3 things
1. Pool time
2. A nice Epcot area resort
3. Lots and lots of food!
Here is the plan of action!
We will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas from 10/6 - 10/13 so that we can be close to FOOD AND WINE!!!!!! FOOD AND WINE!!!!!! Ohh sorry...and the SWOLPHIN FOOD AND WINE CLASSIC. WOO HOO!!!!!!
Although we are generally DXDP people, with the F&W festival it was just too much food so we opted for the regular dining plan this year. The general plans are as follows:
10/5 -Orlando Ale House
Bonus drink - Plum Wine Green Tea Slushie
10/6 - Boardwalk Bakery and Le Cellier for lunch
oops I forgot....Fairfax Fare
10/7 - Wolfgang Puck's Express Boma
10/8 - Flying Fish- Love this place. This was hands down our best meal last year. Dbf still swears it is the best steak he's ever had...even over Jiko's filet and Yachtsmans ribeye.
Also, we will be doing our first official deminar this year with Jeff Henderson as the chef. So maybe a bonus mini review...
10/9 - House of Blues??? - no official plans yet but we have a restaurant.com gift cert, so we may as well use it.
10/10 - Narcoossees - This is my fav restaurant consistently! I actually booked Fultons first ...but cancelled to come back and visit my old victorian friend. Maybe this time we won't be too tired to stay and watch the fireworks!!!
10/11 - Rose and Crown...followed by Smashmouth!!!! This will be a first at Rose and Crown for the both of us. There are very few restaurants I've never eaten at. So, each trip, we ( really I) plan to pick at least one restaurant I've never tried and Rose and Crown...take a bow! This year YOU are the winner!
10/12 - Swolphin Food and Wine Classic!!! I need to ask you all a favor for this one....Please Please send us a bit of pixie dust
that there are not monsoon like rains this year! We have one night and one night only to get the job done...and rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor hail...will stop us. But a bit of lightning might!
10/13- departure day. BOOO!!!!!!!!
But....That is not all!!!!! What you say??? How could there be more?? Do they have an extra stomach???
We have some counter service meals, some food and wine snacking ....and more....much much more!
So for those of you in the food porn 12 step program....you may want to stay away from this one. THERE WILL BE LOTS AND LOTS OF FOOD PORN!!!
