POR/Dolphin split technical ?

We are staying at POR from Sun-Fri. We have 53 days until our trip. We have 5 days worth of tickets (enough for the whole trip) and FP+ made. I would like to move to Dolphin from Wed-Fri which means taking off Wed and Thurs nights from our POR package.

1. Will I lose the FP+ I already have scheduled for the days we would remove from POR and move to Dolphin?

2. I cannot make reservations through Disney as they said they have no rooms at Dolphin for those days, but I can make them through the Dolphin website. If I make it through the Dolphin website and not directly through Disney, will I still be able to link my Dolphin reservation to MDE? (Is it really necessary to do this? I assume our magic bands we get for POR will still have our 5 days worth of tickets on it.

3. Anything else I haven't thought of?

1) No. You will not lose your FP+ reservations.
2) I don't think you can link a Swolphin reservation to MDE, as they are not Disney hotels. You basically have an off-site stay at that point. But it doesn't matter anyway. Your tickets are on your MDE account and accessible via your MBs for Park Entry, and your FP+ are also accessible through your MBs.
3) You will NOT be able to have Disney transfer your luggage from POR to the Dolphin.
You will NOT be able to use DME to get back to the airport, as Swolphin does not participate in that program.
If you have a car, there is a fairly steep ($15 - 20?) nightly parking fee at the Dolphin.
There is a daily Resort Fee.
You WILL have use of the internal Disney bus system.
You WILL be able to participate in EMH.

That's the important stuff, I think.

Yes, you can link them on your MDE, I've done it a number of times. After you get your confirmation number from Dolphin you can enter it in MDE. Look on the Swan Dolphin thread, there is lots of info. there and I do believe Disney will transfer your luggage for you. I drive so it's never an issue for me.

Agree with this - just make sure everyone is listed on the S/D reservation and the names are exactly as you have them in MDE!
