POR Bus Transportation

We are considering staying at POR sometime in mid June 2004. I have previously stayed at POFQ (in 1994) and recall our bus going to POR (then Dixie Landings) and stopping a million times and the people's faces getting bleaker and bleaker each time. Granted we were there at Christmas time, but I'm just wondering if those of you who regularly stay at POR find this to be an issue. Do you find that you are waiting 2 to 3 busses before there is room for you to board one since it picks up at POFQ first? What is the order for the stops at POR? Thanks for any info that can help princess:

The one time we went we never had a problem getting on. Also the way I remember it was that we went to PO last! But it's been almost 4 years so maybe it's different. I'm not one that gets in a wad about those sort of things though! As long as someone else is driving me I don't care if we have to go to 4 stops!:)

When we last stayed at POR we stayed in Magnolia Mansion and we had no complaints about transportation.

In February my BIL/SIL stayed at Dixie Landings (POR) and we rode the bus back with them to their resort a couple of times. There were four stops in POR, one for each "direction" -- ours was always last :). That was the extent of the stops, and going to the theme parks, every bus had just the one destination. POFQ was still closed, I don't know how that would impact the buses.

When we stayed at POFQ the busses always picked up there first and dropped off there first. By the time we got to the 2nd stop at POR the bus would sometimes be full already. And this is in March when it wasnt too crowded.

This trip we stayed at POR since POFQ wasnt open yet. This past Monday when our bus picked us up at MK the bus sign said Riverside. The previous few days it said Port Orleans. So we're wondering if maybe they are changing the bus routes so that FQ and R each have their own busses? Because why else would they have changed the sign?

That is a good question, I would like to know because we will be at POFQ in May.

I know at one point in time, Riverside and French Quarter each had a bus stop at the MK. They were right next to each other, but Riversides was the one farther out. Maybe they are putting them like that again. When FQ was closed, they could have just had Port Orleans because everyone was going to the same place.

It would be nice if they each had their own bus.

Does anyone know what direction the bus goes when it is in POR? Does the AB section get picked up first or last (west depot). I'm trying to decide what type rooms to request.

Thanks!

I'd like to know, too, whether it's better to rely on bus service from POR or rent a car and drive yourself to the parks. (I know it's better to take the bus to MK), but what about to the other parks from POR?
