We have a few ps at other resorts..would it be an efficient way to travel via the boat to DTD & then a bus fron there to the actual resort? Or would it be faster to take the bus to MK & then monorail to the monorail resorts? Thanks! :goodvibes

Going to the MK resorts, it's fastest to go to MK then take the monorail or walk to CR.

From POR to the Epcot resorts, take the bus to MGM then take the boat or walk to the resorts. If you take the Epcot bus, you'd have to walk thru Epcot's Future World to get to the International Gateway.

The boat to DTD takes about 20 minutes, plus during the day the buses from DTD to resorts and back are on a reduced schedule so you won't be saving any time there.

Going to the parks to transfer is the best way. Or, plan your park days according to where you're having your PS. If you have a PS at an MK resort, plan to be at MK around the time of your PS. That would save you the hassle of transferring here and there.

The boat to DTD is a very nice way to travel, but not to get to a bus to another resort in my humble opinion. I would say that if you were trying to go from say..POR to BW for dinner at Flying Fish, I would take the POR bus to MK and transfer to a BW bus. Or take the MGM bus from POR and walk to BW from MGM. Same if you were eating at YC/BC.

If you are going to say, Ohana, then I would take the MK bus from POR and then the monorail to Polynesian, or the little shuttle boat. Same for Contemporary or GF.

I try to stay away from DTD unless that is my destination. I never use it to get from one place to another. But others may have a different sense.

I agree that bus transfers are probably a bit quicker, but those diesel fumes can get to you after a while! The boat offers a cool, peaceful, and scenic ride, and runs every 15 minutes after 4PM, and its an easy walk from the dock to the DD resort bus stops.

If you are on a dead-run schedule, yeah, take the bus. But if you want to relax a bit on the way to dinner at another resort, you can't beat the boat service.

Yes, it runs every half hour from 11 AM to 4 PM, then every 15 minutes from 4 till 11PM.

All buses for all parks, including water parks and Downtown Disney are dispatched approx every 15 minutes at all times throughout the day. More often as demand requires.

We took the boat from POR to DTD earlier in the afternoon to have dinner before we caught a bus to WL for our Wishes Cruise, it's nice if you have time for a leisurely ride... more scenic than most bus rides, but if you are in a time crunch, you should probably go the bus route. If you are staying at POR, DTD is probably the closest place to catch busses to other resorts. We got lucky at WL on the return trip. We planned to go to DTD for ice cream then catch a bus back to our resort. Our bus driver overheard our plans and when no one else got on the bus to go to DTD, our wonderful bus driver just took us directly back to our resort.

Thanks Tyler, that's good to know since I was told by our bus driver back in January that we would have a very long wait to DTD because the buses run on a reduced schedule between 11am - 4pm.
