Forgive me, I can't remember the name of the lounge OR the name of the entertainer at POR. Does he play here nightly? What time usually? We'd like to have a "grown up" night out, and I thought I remember reading some good things about this guy.

TIA!!

I believe his name is Bob Jackson. He plays a lot of songs that are kind of crazy, and a lot of sing along stuff. He does a lot of interactive stuff too (likes brings people up on stage to dance). He is a lot of fun...however, there are tons of kids there, it's a very family oriented event; if you're looking for an adult night out, I'd suggest Pleasure Island or Jellyrolls...

Pleasure Island isn't our scene anymore, but tell me about Jellyrolls. Where is it and what's it like?

I almost forgot about that show at POR. We saw it 2 years ago, really fun. We'll be there in just a couple of weeks, will have to add that to my itinerary. Anybody have any info about the when of this show? :sunny:

Yes, his name is Bob Jackson. His website is www.yehaabob.com and it lists his current month's schedule along with pics, etc. He is great. DH and I have been going to see his show since 1997 and it is a must-do for us at least 1-2x while we are at POR. His show is from 8:30pm to midnight and he usually plays every Wed thru Sunday. It's definitely worth seeing him once if you are staying at POR whether you have kids or not. If you go to the bar a little later in the evening, the families tend to filter out and it's more adults.

Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar on the Boardwalk. They play just about anything, rock, pop, standards, etc. Great fun if you like to sing along. It's 21 and over, and there is a cover charge ($8?). The only downside (for me, it may be an upside for others) is that smoking is allowed.

Thanks for the link, I had been looking for his schedule, but OMG! That's the worst website I've ever seen! My eyes still hurt! :earseek:

Looking forward to seeing him anyway. :flower:
