POR-Anyone there recently

I was wondering if the rooms had mini fridges, I thought I read where they were getting them for 2005. Also, do they have coffeepots in the rooms. Someone told me you could go into, I think it was the food court, and use toasters there. Like bring your own bread or bagels and go there to toast them, anyone know of that? Thanks.

In October I was at POFQ (which is the sister resort of POR - therefore very similar) and we asked at the front desk and they brought us up a fridge free of charge. They may have installed them all already, I know they were installed in the room at the AKL when I was there in December. So if its not in the room when you get there you can always ask and they will bring it up. And yes in the food courts have toasters so you can bring your own bread and bagels and toast them there - the only thing about doing that at POR is that the resort is quite spread out (where POFQ isn't as spread out) and depending on your room location you may be a hike from the food court.

I think bldg 14 in POR is close to the front bldg and also the bus station - so you should be ok.

I was there in Sep and Dec 2004. In Sep building 15 did not have a fridge, and front desk was adamant that none would come available during my 10 day stay.

A quick call to housekeeping from my room and I had a fridge in 10 minutes. They did tell me that until all the AB rooms were renovated by this spring they wouldn't have fridges since they don't have the cabinet in the room.

December checked into building 15 and had a really bad room (on another thread) and was cheerfully moved to a newly renovated room. WOW! Great room!!! Was there 14 days and definitely had a fridge in the new cabinet.

Building 14 is as close as you can get - enjoy!!

we were there thanksgiving week (love this resort!!) in AB 14 and had to request a fridge. It was no problem... had it free for the week. had never stayed POR!! my new favorite!! (stayed at: AKL. BW, YC, BC, WL, CSR, OKW)... enjoy!

Thanks to all. Kathy--Thanks so much for saying it is your new favorite after staying at all those other ones you would know!!!! I am nervous to stay there, the room looked small and not real fancy, I was afraid to be disappointed, but after your reply I am relieved!!!

Our AB room had a fridge when we stayed there last month. How do you know you will have building 14 for sure? I've made requests at resorts and sometimes get them, sometimes not, and they always say when reserving that it is only a request, not a guarantee.

Our AB room in building 18 had a mini-fridge in it last week when we where there. That was our first time at POR and we really loved it. I loved the rustic look of AB and the whole resort in general.

We were there in Dec. too and had a fridge. All the rooms are supposed to have them, but I guess they haven't finished putting them in everywhere. You'll enjoy it...it's a wonderful resort. A little smaller than others, so doesn't feel so crowded. We really liked it.

I am not sure if we will get #14. I just know I requested it and he said no problem I was allowed to do that, but like you said, who knows when I get there. I just hope.

I will be there in February. I called directly to POR and spoke with a CM at the front desk. As of right now all of the mansions have been refurbished, and most of the AB section. The only buildings still being worked on are 14-18 but they will definately be done by the time you get there in June!

We were there 12/22/04-1/2/05 and stayed in the Arcadia House in the Mansion section and they had brand new mini fridges. They were very nice and it made it easier for us in the morning to have something in the room instead of having to walk to the food court.

When they switched you to a newly renovated room, was that also in Bldg. 15?
