What is the difference between rooms in the two areas? My CM suggested I get a room at Magnolia Bend - should I ixnay it or keep it? I'm just wondering because I hear lots of positive things about Alligator more than Magnolia!

Thanks!

The rooms are the same size and set up only difference is the decor. I prefer the rooms in Magnolia Bend but that's just my opinion.

I agree. The rooms are the same except for the decor. It's all a matter of what taste appeals to you.

Either way you'll love this resort! :lovestruc

As I understand it, it is more difficult for a family of 4 or less to get a room in Aliigator Bayou. Many of the rooms have trundle beds, and families of 5 get priority for those. So it might have been an availabiliy issue. Either way, I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Good choice on resorts, first of all!!:thumbsup2

Alligator Bayou is more rustic and has more of a "Tom Sawyer" or "Huckleberry Finn" feel to it.

Magnolia Bend is more "Scarlett O'Hara"

I would be happy with either although, check out the left of my post which will tell you my personal fave;)

The rooms at AB have rustic Patchwork bedspreads and
log style furniture. The gardens are like a natural country
wildflowers beds.

The Rooms at Mansions have Dark wood more formal furniture
with floral bedspreads. Very nice shaped gardens that are
symetrical and manicured. The gardens also have Fountains, Gazibo features.
Each Mansion has a unique staircase, some curved. There are also
some Mansions with decorative Iron Railings.
We have only stayed in the Mansions section and really Loved it.
I don't care for rustic surroundings but if you'er a log cabin type you may
prefer the AB section.

When POR was known as Dixie Landings, did the AB section have the trundles?

My DH & I have stayed here twice and have gotten rooms here both times and it's just the 2 of us. I think you might only have a problem with this if you go during an extremely crowded time of the year.

I know that the Magnolia Bend rooms have interior entrances, so they also have a window or door that opens up to the balcony or anything like that?

Magnolia Bend does not have interior entrances. There are no balconies all doors open to a walkway same as AB.
