Been to POR many many times and have never seen a frog or snake.

We have stayed in the bayou region of PO-R many times. I have never seen a frog or a snake. There is piped in "sound" around the little bridges/walkways that sounds like crickets and tree frogs. But the little critters themselves aren't normally there. Now that is not to say that since there is water in the area that they are non existant, but I have never seen any.

I've never seen a frog or snake there, but how do you feel about lizards (or are they geckos?) Mwahahaha :scared1:

It's my favorite moderate resort and my favorite section and no, never have seen any of those things.

Thanks for your comments......I don't know what it is...I can' deal with snakes and the lizards don't bother me....it just those frogs and when I heard someone say something about alot of them at POR I got a little :scared1: !!!!!! Thanks for the comments though....not so freaked out now....ha ha ha! :scared1: Only one more month til the mouse! yay!!!!!

Only one more month til the mouse! yay!!!!!

What dates will you be there? I'm taking my kids by myself and checking in on 9/2 for 2 weeks! :dance3: We'll be in the AB section for sure since there are 5 of us.

Maybe we'll see you around! I'll be the frazzled looking woman with 4 kids close behind. Or somewhere. :scared:

We were just there in June and saw no tree frogs nor snakes. There were a ton of geckos, especially near the bushes near the pool. Lots of ducks and other birds. And we ever saw a rabbit by the main pool. Saw a horse-drawn carriage. Uhm, that's about it!

Same here. We love Alligator Bayou. Never ever have we seen a snake. MAYBE a cute little frog, but I don't remember of any specific incident. Lots of those little lizard/gekko/chameleon(have no clue which they are) thingies running around, but they are everywhere and I think they are adorable.:goodvibes

Well be there 9/7 to 9/15 and we'll be in that section too! I can't wait!!!

Well I guess that I am in the minority as we have seen tree frogs at POR. It may depend upon the time of year you visit. We saw them during our June visit but I haven't seen them during my fall visits. Sorry LOL!!

Don't worry, Disneymagic73--if you see any frogs you just yell for us--my kids will be happy to come and save you from those menacing critters--they love to catch frogs! :rotfl:

I'm walking the main sidewalk at POR one night, looking around at the loveliness (as best I can in the dark) and enjoying the peace and quiet. Suddenly there is a slimy sucky thing on my thigh. Immediately shrieked, while moving my leg and swatting at it. I feel it instantaeously off one thigh and on the other.

Now I'm on the sidewalk screaming, jumping around and swatting with both hands at both my legs.

Then it landed on my lower leg. I panicked, thinking it was another slimy sucky living thing and lost it completely. Screaming like a banshee, I start shaking my entire body, while moving around and trying to swat.

My heart was going a mile a minute. Still had no idea what was going on. Might as well have been aliens - all I knew was slimy sucky things were attacking me.

Finally it was gone and I noticed that one of those guys in the carts had pulled up and stopped. I'm still all wigging out and breathing heavily when I notice him...I was no longer screaming, but I couldn't talk.

"Frog?" he says.

"I dunno!? Something!?!. Slimy sucky things!!"

"Tree frog," he says, "We've got lots of them. Gotta watch out for those."

Well, thank-a-doodle-doo-you. NOW he tells me.

He did ask if I was OK, which I was. Just a little freaked. I didn't even think to be embarrassed until I relayed this story to a friend of mine who laughed so hard she choked on her pop and then peed her pants while I acted out the motions. Then I got really embarrassed.

So, yeah, there are tree frogs. And, yeah, you should watch out for them. If you don't, guys in carts will think your nuts and your friends will become incontinent. :)

I'm sorry for your frog attack but :rotfl: :lmao: That was too funny!!
I will NOT be telling DD15 this because if I do she won't get out of the truck when we arrive!! I may whisper it to DS12 though, he'd think it was cool.

It's cool. Everyone laughs. I think you should tell your DD, though. Wish someone had warned me. I couldn't figure out what was attacking me. Giant leeches? Aliens? No clue - and that was the scariest part, I think.

I thought whatever it was might be sucking my blood or getting ready to bite a chunk out of me or inject some kind of poison. If I'd known it was a damn frog, I'd have been much less freaked out.

I think that should be on the little hotel pamphlet: BEWARE OF TREE FROGS. :)

Never saw a frog or a snake, but YES to lizards!!!

Cool Beans....are you trying to kill me... ha ha ha! I would be jumping and screaming so loud that all of Disney would hear me. My poor DH he is going to have to be on frog alert when we are walking around......all other "creatures" don't bother me......I mean I don't want to see snakes and stuff but I won't freak.....the frogs are the only thing....dont know why but I get freaked.......:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Are they worse in one section than an other....like are there more in AB section since it is woodsy than in the Mansion section? I can't believe I am even asking these questions....my husband thinks I am nuts!!!:dance3:

Thanks....
