Just checking in - school has gotten *crazy* and I haven't had time to DIS! I don't know if anyone else here is from WNY, but the Dalai Lama is in Buffalo this week and DH and I have first row tickets to see him speak this afternoon. DH is off learning from another Lama and various Buddhist scholars. I'm taking a break from my journal editing duties to check in.

I'm really looking forward to getting my mom on Tower of Terror.

Donny Osmond!!!

ok ok, now that you're up off the floor...

Seriously...that man is 47 years old and seriously gorgeous!
He's HOW old? Are you sure? Last I knew, he was about seventeen! Where does the time go? :)

Good morning, Poppers (or Poopers ;) )!

I just dug my way out from under 150 emails here in the office, most of it spam, some of it in German...what next?

My official countdown of days until I'm out of this office is down to single-digits! Yesss!!!! I'm trying to wind things up here, but every time I think I'm done, my boss says "Oh, I need you to..." and it becomes yet another "idiot project." He, of course, tells me that I'm the best "idiot" he's ever met--as if that's going to make these projects any easier!

MrFDNY: My son is a 911 operator here in Monmouth County, and he remembers well the story of the child pulled out of the pool. I guess that kind of information gets around in dispatcher circles.

We'll miss the MGM meet, but only by a little while, so perhaps we'll see lots of DIS'ers. We're having dinner at Marrakesh at 5 PM, and then heading to MGM for the evening. From previous experience, we know that dinner at Marrakesh, at least for us, takes about 90 minutes. We like to relax while we eat, and we don't let anyone rush us, although we don't hog seats once we're finished.

We're only 45 minutes from the airport, but, since we don't have a car, it's just easier to go the night before. We usually take the last train out of town the night before and just sleep at the airport, but we're taking a much later flight this time and didn't want to spend an extra three hours there! This way, we'll be able to stay up late enough for the meet on 9/30! We old folks do need our beauty rest, you know!

Oh and that brings up another one of my loves. How could I have ever forgotten him ? Tim McGraw <sigh> !!

Y'know we are soul mates. And for the record I got to touch him once. :worship: I think he felt the chemistry too
I got to shake hands with Collin Raye once (for non-country music fans, he's the singer in the Fruit of the Loom commercials...) And I got moved closer - to the front row of the second section - at Toby Keith's concert here last year. An usher who'd helped me to my seat realized (since I can't stand for long periods) that I couldn't see around/over all the concertgoers in front of me who were on their feet permanently as soon as Toby hit the stage - so this wonderful man moved me up to the wheelchair row!

Okay, well, when you get to the Fantasmic! Theater, I'll be in the back row in an ECV. Ideally, I'll be as close as possible to the 'other' exit, the one where the FDP Guests enter (if they'll be exiting people that way at the end of the show) and if it arrives in time, I'll be wearing a lime green t-shirt.
My plan is to watch Fantasmic! from as close to the exit as possible, and then scoot (pun intended) out of the theater, out the front gate, and over to Epcot in time for an 8:30 ADR...

hahah yep I'm sure..... :rotfl2: & I agree, I can't possibly be turning 41 in 5 months...I just turned 40! hahahahaha

(& celebrated in Vegas with girlfriends at the Mirage!!!) LOVE Vegas!!

Oh, hey, I forgot to tell you all - I'm going to Disney World!!!

Okay, fine. You already knew. Technically, I already knew as well. But due to a variety of glitches, I hadn't gotten ANY paperwork. Nothing that indicates I have a reservation. Nothing that proves I'm registered for Magical Express. Nada.

Well, a few minutes ago, the mail clerk hand-delivered my DME packet, which has been Expressed to me late last week! Now, I probably have a room reservation, but I definitely have a way to get to and from my, I mean the, hotel. Anybody got a spare van or SUV?

We also requested 50's Tramp lakeside, my DD really wants to stay in that section.

I tried to find the picture I posted before and I gave up so here it is again :teeth:

We get to Disney the 26th. A few months ago they announced oby Kieth would be coming in concert to Denver the 28th. :furious: Oh - I was so upset !! I was crying to DH about it - and I was like. Maybe I should just stay home or move the disney trip. We go to Disney all the time anyway - ~right~ ? :rolleyes1

Oh and that brings up another one of my loves. How could I have ever forgotten him ? Tim McGraw <sigh> !!

Y'know we are soul mates. And for the record I got to touch him once. :worship: I think he felt the chemistry too

Had a similar situation happen here! Aerosmith and Motley Crue are here while we are gone, as well as Def Lepard and Journey! All legends and we miss them all! Well, at least we were here to see Cinderella and Poison

Hey, if you get ahold of Tim McGraw, then that would leave Faith for my brother! When she was very young and had just started out, my brother would pick up the talent for the local country radio station, and he definately "felt chemistry" for Faith!!!!!!

Me, I still love David Coverdale (Whitesnake)... man, he was 45 when I was 18, and I still think he is hot.... ok, what is wrong with me???? I'm sure I could think of more.... give me a moment.... :rolleyes1

Thank you very much - youre making my head swell!!! :goodvibes However....

I dont do anything. I smoke, I certainly dont sleep enough (I would though - i swear to you, if I was rich, I'd be sleeping half my life away!!!) I dont drink ANY water, I hate it! I drink coffee - I swear like crazy (be forwarned...the *F* word is a common adjective, verb, noun, adverb for me! :teeth: )

I had Joey when I was 17 though - which makes a bit more sense, now - huh? ;) I'm 33.

And I went to Beauty School - so i am cursed with always doing my makeup, always having "in" hair - always making myself up. And - I *am* photogenic... always have been. So, I take really good pictures (ask to see my Driver's Lisense, if you remember at the meet! It's phenomenal!!! :rotfl: )

Trust me.... an 11 & a 15 y/o?? Im aging at a VERY VERY substantial rate. Joey's (15) has been in 2 fights since school started.... less than a month ago. Not his fault - of course! By the time I get to WDW, I'm gonna look like this:

Good drivers license picture too? Man, that's not right....Hope to see you at the meet. Bring your license... :teeth:

Truth be told i am only 16, here in nyc we start young :teeth: .Just kidding,i get that all the time, actually i am young,i am 28.When people don't know me they always think i'm under 18,once i had my FDNY fire house jacket on and some lady asked me which one of my family members work for the fdny, and how proud i must be and would i follow in thier foot steps,i explained to her i was the FDNY with almost 8 years on the job and she said nice try kid. :confused3

That USED to happen to me, but no more...<sigh>. I was 18 when I had my first daughter, and looked much younger. People used to think I was pushing a buggy with a doll in it! When they realized it was a real baby, they thought she was my little sister! I didn't have my son until I was 30. I had my last daughter at 37, and was a lot older than the other mothers at preschool! Luckily, I still looked young enough that nobody thought I was her grandma! I've been ill lately though, and unfortunately now people think I'm OLDER than I am. YUCK!! :)

I hope you enjoy your afternoon. The Dalai Lama was just here last week. Many people enjoyed hearing him speak. My DH had really wanted to go.
