Chris: hugs to you. Same thing happened here. I typed out a huge post in response to yours this morning, with the entire story of how the night went, but then I just deleted it. I had made DH sound like such an A, you know? But then, I had to explain that DH was at work for 15 hours and that he is awesome the rest of the time, and I do love him so much... then I said to myself: Self, I can't post this , because he isn't all that bad over all!

I hope today is better for you, and that he is good today.


Tia, yeah, it is kind of a dream, but I looked over the entire school year for Sarah, and that is the only day that falls close enough to a weekend to use it as an excuse to go. Any other day off is a holiday, and I hate crowds, (thus why I try to go Sept, and Jan) so, as of now it is a thought.... but hope it comes true.


Hope everyone is having nice weather. I think we had nice weather today, but I took a long nap and missed it! Sean actually wanted to sleep so I took advantage of it! We probably got wiped out from the sun yesterday at 6 Flags. Enjoy your evenings!

Today I cleaned like a mad woman! Then I went out & bought 4 new shower curtains, liners & hooks & rugs for 4 of the 5 bathrooms! hahahah I have no clue why, I just decided I needed new shower curtains! hahahahahah

I'm up to my eyeballs in laundry...it's clean though! just have to put it away...

Anyone heard from Jen? How was her trip to AG place? did I miss her post abotu it???

Yup it's me... but I am only going for a little bit. It is kind of like a quick weekend trip. I am not even looking at it as a vacation. It will just be a vacation from this house! I leave on a 9PM flight on Thursday night, so I will be with you three more "days" here chatting!!!!

Can I bring anyone back anything???? Let me know...

My choice would always have been the bag of white fudge covered mickey head pretzles, but they don't have them anymore, now you have to buy the big box, not the little bag, and they just aren't the same... not enough fudge. BUT if anyone else misses those, the white flips are just as good... too bad i couldn't have a diet of just those!!!!

How's everyone?? Had a great first day back to work!! I go in and find out i'm off the rig and covering the Merv(major emergency response vechile) It's a giant bus with everything you can imagine FDNY wise on it. It's huge about the size of a grey hound bus. I'll post a pic of it later. I love being behind the wheel of this thing!! Anyway i'm sitting around doing nothing at the fire house and i'm really bored.Out of nowhere it goes from dead to screaming on the radio. I'm listing to some chief in coney island reporting a huge 3 alarm blaze at a high rise. First reports are that the building is 45 stories tall and the blaze is on the 17th floor and is uncontrolable and spreading up fast, 911 is getting dozens of calls for people trapped on the floor of the fire and above. I hear the code get called

Car 3(which is the chief in charge at this high rise blase) To brooklyn, 10- 60, i reapeat 10-60.

A 10-60 is a major emergency respone, meaning this chief knows this blaze is out of control and he needs help and back up to regain control, he needs lots of man power there and quick. A 10-60 gets 10 extra engine companys, 7 ladder companys, 3 captains, 2 lT's and 2 extra chiefs, it also gets 7 FDNY EMS units and the MERV to respond. Thats me i get to go to coney island on this big job. before i can get up off the lazy boy and away from in front of the T.V. the fire house alarm and bells start going off, its for the merv, it means the merv has a run. I already know where to.

I jump in the rig and start it up, turn on the on board computer which is linked to dispatch and the run comes over the computer, i also advise dispatch i'm 10-63( which means in route) So i get there and its winding up real bad, heavy winds are causing problems on the upper floors and feeding the fire.
Then i hear something i hate to hear,

MAy day, may day, may day 13th floor. A may day means a member of the FDNY is in trouble and down and hurt on the 13 floor. Now it's real, one of my guys is hurt. Well the good news is that he'll be fine but out of work for a few months, he was thrown to the floor and down the steps by a burst of fire, he has a broken thigh bone and some minor burns to his neck area, but he'll live. The guy i knew very well and he was taken to cornell burn center in manhattan in seroius but stable condition.

In little than 25 minutes after i got there the blaze was placed under control and over. Of course i had to stop at world famous nathans and grab a hot dog and a coke and then back to my fire house where it was quiet the rest of the night, but if felt great to be back!!!

Hi gang,
So i mention to the wife about the free dinning thing and how great it would be to go there for the free dinning. So she says, "No, it's too hot to go in aug but i was thinking about going for the babys 7th birthday in oct, she says not too long maybe 5 days at pop". So now i know going in oct is on her mind and of course going anytime is always on mind as well. I would sleep on a park bench in orlando just to be able to go to disney. So i'll have to work on her a little and it looks like i moght be going to wdw in oct!!

On a side note i asked Ds if we went back to wdw would he want us to tell him or surprise him and just wake him up and tell him were leaving to go to the airport to wdw, he looks up at the and then says, maybe you can play the hide game with me like last time. I totally forgot we did that. The day before we left last oct, i got him from school and brought him home, were i handed him a index card. On it was a clue where to find the next one. So the next one had a map of orlando international airport and a nother clue, On the next clue was another clue and a watch(disney themed of course) There were about 10 clues and on the 9th clue which was in his luggage, which was fully packed. By then i thought he figured it out, since the only time we take his luggage out from the basement was when we go somewhere and plus he had to open it to find the last clue, seeing it packed with clothes i thoguht he figure it out. Then finnaly the 10th and last clue, which was hidden under his bed, it was park maps to all the disney parks.

HE looks at me and says what does it mean, so i asked him when or where do you use those maps and he gets it, but still i see he thinks were going in a few months, so he asks when are we going and we tell him tomorrow, he starts running thru the house all happy and i'm all teary eye, Umm because i got something in both eyes at the same time, really So this time i think we will do the same hide and clue game.Anyway so it's a possiblitiy my mom and aunt might join us there. The last time was in feb 2006 my mom and her 2 sisters came with us. My mom has a twin sister and another sister that all came with us. Anyway to my surprise my mom and her my aunt the one that is not her twin, actually fell in love with disney. They want to go back, so my mom says she has to talk to my aunt and maybe they will join us. It's still a maybe but is more maybe yes than no. I so need to go back after the hell i went thru in class with all the stress and studing!!!
