Popeye's is down for refurbishment

Popeye's is going to be down for probably a month for seasonal maintenance. Water is all drained out.

Oh no! I hope it is just a month. We are counting the minutes until March 1 when we ride Popeye!

It's usually back up in February, I've been on it during that month.

Bummer, but it probably would have been too chilly for me to ride Popeye this weekend.

It was closed starting on Jan.18 and is expected to be closed for 3 weeks.

According to someone who works there "the whole ride is being painted, the lift/pre-lift gear box and motors are being changed, new spill way gates are being installed, most of the animation is being rehabed, and the chains on the conveyors at the load station are being changed."

We are Universal converts after being WDw fanatics for many years. We also have given up MGM (but still love the other WDw parks). there is, IMHO, no comparison between Universal Studios and Disney Studios. USO is an amazing park . And so is IOA! You will have a great time.
