POP'ers who have bonded - (new home!)

Sorry about that PJ! YOU WILL MAKE IT NEXT TIME!!!! Stay focused and positive.

Colleen - That sounds like fun! I am glad you are having a good summer!

Chris - OMG! Yeah, that broke my hear. The Red Cross is amazing though. They do such good work. They were very involved in all of our briefings for the deployment and made sure we all knew how to get in touch with them. Actually when something happens, the last people you call is your RDO (rear detachment officer) or FRG (family rediness group) you always call Red Cross first. They have magic powers that can make things happen! :wizard:

Let's see... the house is coming together nicely. And we adopted two kittens and got to bring them home last night. I am a cat person for sure. My first Cat Nala is not a happy camper. She snorts and hisses at those two babies. Meany. Hopefully she will chill and get over it soon. I registered Ryan for school yesterday. The schools looks VERY nice. I am hopeful it will be a positive experience for him. Other than that... same ol same ol.

Has anyone stayed at CBR before??? Pj I think you're going there this time right? I was thinking since we've got 10 days in March, & Casey's going to be with band for 4, Grace & I might splurge & stay somewhere else. Although Grace said - NO MOM I LOVE POP!!!! - maybe if I show her the pool/slide she'll change her mind. We do this everytime we go...I offer to stay somewhere else & they both protest & say no. So I was thinking of doing a split stay...POP for a few days (4 or 5) and then swithcing to CBR or AKL. Have you guys done any split stays? PITA? or fun? The Royal Princess's have also given me permission to do some NON character dining - FINALLY:yay: I was thinking Cal Grill & Coral Reef? Thoughts?
!!

We stayed at Cbr in feb 2003, i believe. I'm sure it was feb, just not exactly which year. We really loved Cbr, Cbr has 9 pools, yes nine pools. One thing we noticed, was not one single crowded bus and we also got a seat, most times there were at least 10 to 20 seats empty. The food court always seemed slow and quiet and had no problem also getting a table by the window for a good view. Me and ds rented a watermice and took a nice boat ride along the resort.

Last time we stayed in buliding 51, aruba, it was really nice. Don't get me wrong pop is great, but Cbr was a little more quiet and was without crowds.

Hi all,

Remember all that trouble i was having with my Ac?? Went out and bought a new one and all?? The new one is now broke as well!!! YAy!! Currently it is 85 in my house. I waitng for a call back from a service center who is sending someone here, Hopefully tonight!!

OMG!!!!! Where is everyone? Are you all allright????? What's new here is that my husband's grandmother is staying with us for a few days. She comes up from Florida every summer for like 4 or so weeks, and takes turns at all the relatives houses. It's great that the kids get to spend such quality time with their Great Grandmother! talk to you all soon, hope all is well.... and that Rebecca made it home safely!!!! (with no more added expenses.... like overweight luggage?????):goodvibes

I did have more expenses...I came home and got a a tax bill for $161 from 2002!!! We filed, used an accountant...its not fair!

PJ, sorry you didn't make LT, but in 5 years I'm sure you'll be at least 20 points wiser.

PJ--Yuck about the AC...its cooler today here, hopefully up there as well.

Chris--I think its great you are able to be there for that family. It is really sad. I don't think I can do it, but I know it'll be a huge help for them.

Honestly, I wasn't thrilled with CBR. Yes, it was beautiful, and they had a beach, but its so big. I had a bit of a hike to the food court, but other people had more. At least the bus stops were all over, but that also meant you had to sit on the bus through the bus stops. Of course at Pop, you have those lines for the busses. No lines at CBR. I just don't know if its worth an extra 50 a night to me. My parents stayed at AKL and LOVED it. Plus Boma is right there for breakfast and dinner. Not sure how much more that is though.

Hey guys...I published my first internet article...Tia, you should check this out for money making, you earn money based on how many people click on your article. I hate that they edited it though. www.associatedcontent.com/article/889395/choosing_a_private_babysitter_or_private.html

Congrats, don't forget when you make it real big, you can interview me for the offical FDNY book.

As for me, this week just gets getting better and better. Go outside before to drive a friend home and what do i find?? A very nice 9 inch sliver gash on the drivers side of my car, someone was nice enough to hit my car and not stop. Its deep and nasty, right behind the passengers side door. I guess it can't get much worse, right, i hope??

YIKES pj - Don't go play the lottery...not a lucky week for you at all! Did the ac at least get fixed?

Rebecca - I read your article...it's great...I signed up to do some too....I think I'll write something on bereavement...no one ever knows what to say to those folks.

& thats what I was afraid of at CBR.....we are SOOOOO used to POP, the walk doesn't seem long to us at all....I wonder if I got a preferred room at CBR? I think I'm gonna email Donna & see what she thinks too....

The ac is cooling off the house, but not like it normal does. I have to wait for the repair company to call me. Sometime tomorrow they will call me, i was told. After they tried to make an appt for next thursday, i told them a week away in middle summer, was unacceptable. I guess we will wait and see, the unit is less then 30 days old and still considered brand new.

As for cbr, if you look at a map, we stayed in building #51 and the walk was not bad at all. Plus most of the villages have there own bus stop, so the wlk to a bus area was less then 3 minutes. Also the resort has an internal shuttle, so if your far away from the food court and main building, walk over to your bus stop and take the internal resort shuttle to the main building. We did this alot.

hiiiiii......we're home....and totally bummed :( It was truly 100% fabulous and I hate to admit that we had more fun there than in Disney World! Gahhh....what is this world coming to?? Nahh, it just was a truly relaxing vacation.

i've got tons to do now to catch up with everything, so i figured I better drop a line in.

CBR--> Too big for my tastes, but really nice since the remodel. They run loads of busses, so you can take them everywhere areount the resort. Unless you get a super close room, the walk can get annoying. BUT that's just my OP, since I usually have sleeping kids that need to be carried at the end of the night ;)

Congrats on the article Rebecca :)

Have a good one everybody!

Cat, no deoderant at Walmart for awhile for me. I've been living on rationing it in between my Secret Clinical strength and the sad thing is that the Arm and Hammer works muuuch better than the 10$ insane deoderant ;)

I did another article about Disney...I'll let you know when its published!

Still waiting for the FDNY, you plan to publish.

Dmm- welcome home, hope you had a blast.

Hi everyone! What a week!!
We adopted 2 kittens this week from the animal shelter. They are soooo cute. Leela and Cliff. I have pics on my blog of them. So it has been interesting with 2 kittens running around. Well Cliff is VERY adventerous. And ballsy. Leela is more of a I just want to be held an cuddled kind of cat. She is itty bitty an likes being babied. Works for me because I kind of get my baby fix. Which THRILLS Terry! :rotfl:
The house is great. We are taking a break this weekend from projects. It has been non stop around here and we are tired!

Rebecca - I read your article! Good job! I might have to sign up too. I love sharing my opinion.

I think we are for sure cancelling Disney! IF we go, it will be in December. And we will probably stay at Shades of Green. The money saved in taxes alone will be good plus Terry can get a 20% off room rate and food at their resort. I am kind of wanting to go somewhere else. I really want to go to DC. Terry has been there but Ry and I never have and I think it is important to go. And in a year or two we want to go to Europe. :yay: Which would be a dream come true for me.

Everyone is alseep so I am enjoying a quiet morning. :goodvibes

Its my fault isn't it...I leaked that Hawaii was more relaxing than WDW, then DMM felt the same way about Mexico, and now Tia is choosing DC over WDW...Am I going to be the reason WDW goes out of business?:guilty:

I have been to tennessee, las vegas, wisconsin, virgina, wasington D.C., vermont, upstate ny, jersey and a millon other places and states, I will choose Wdw everytime as my favorite place to be. If the others don't go anymore, not to worry, i will make up with extra trips of my own to keep Wdw in bussiness!!

How's everyone doing??

Ds is not feeling well, has a stomache virus i think. All is well, i have to go in tonight for a shift.

No offense, but if you didn't like Hawaii more I would have had to slap ya! :rotfl: WDW is WONDERFUL but man, when I think of all the places in the world I want to see, it makes WDW less important. But then I get sad thinking about not being there. So I price out a trip to DL which is way expensive so I can't even really get my fix there. :headache: We will still probably go to WDW in Dec. But it will be different but good. But it really is time to start looking at other options. Like Ry and I want to go to Vegas to see Criss Angel. I would love to go up to the Grand Canyon (Ry and Terry have never been) then of course there is my trip to NY! See, unless I become rich over night something has to give!!!!

Doing ok. Today was a bad day, but all is better now.

I'll still go to WDW. I'm sick and twisted. :rolleyes1

I was *just* thinking about a new car....then I changed my mind, knowing I'd have to cut back and/or skip a trip or two.

:confused3 I know. I need therapy.

Chris - CBR is nice, but if it were me, I'd choose POR (and what is it now? FQ?) Whatever.... the original PO, not Dixie Landings. ;)

PO was our resort of choice when I went down with my Mom, year after year. It's smaller, it's pool is adorable. I really like POFQ.

I still have to mail your pin, Chris. Im sorry. Ive just been swamped with life.

TIA! Youre cancelling? Bum. I get it though.

MICHELLE - I found the Arm & Hammer on Amazon. I'm going to get it from there, until it's out of circulation. Then I will stink. ;)

DC is AMAZING! We have taken our kids there twice and they absolutely LOVE it there!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 My two favorite places are WDW and DC!:cool1:
