Wow, $3000 for disney is a lot. Our trip in Sept 2 years ago (before my parents got DVC) was $1600, all-inclusive...that was 3 airline tix, food, lodging and tix for DH and I (DD was still free for all but airfare.) I liked it when she was free.

Im spending morre then 3000 this year...way more! The room is 1200-something....but we're only get one day tickets, cuz Danny and I will have AP's and then we have to figure out a pass for Jim. Then the flight was $660 for all three.... then extra money a day (for tips, extra drinks, alcohol drinks) and then spending money....

I should kick my addiciton and freaking go to Hawaii.

I hear you guys! I'm totally with ya! It's such a huge thing for me to spend 2 weeks and probably a whole lot more money on a trip that's NOT Disney! I'm trying this time...we have a lot of stuff planned, & I hope I don't end up saying "gosh Niagara Falls is nice, but it's not disney"..."gosh Hershey park is nice, but it's not disney"......We can't go back till Spring Break 09 & it's killing me.....plus, I really do hate going at spring break anyway....blah people....

Well not really. Our package was about $2000. I am getting an AP I think. Airfare is going to cost us around $800 - $1000. (last year for Ry and I, I paid $400! ) Our rental car is around $200. Then the MNSSHP tickets PLUS a HHN ticket for Terry. And then extra spending money. So all in all I guess it will be over $3000. Darn air fare is killing me!

I kick it around, but it never pans out....but I just realized last night, this will probably be my last ever 'off season' long trip.... Danny will be in High School by Sept 09. So, Im making the absolute MOST of this trip. My yearly 2 times as Disney trips are coming to an end.

Hi gang,

Whats doing? I have some cool news that i'm excitied about. At work yesterday, i was informed that i was one of the FDNY employees considered for the new MERV. The MERV is a Major Emergency Response Vechile, It goes to all the Major emergencys, only the big jobs. Anyway my name was mentioned as a possible back up for the merv, cause the guy that runs it is retiring. So there a few peopkle being considered for the Spot as the MERV operator/ MAjor response operations, but i am one of them. I so hope i get the postion!!! It mean i get to go to all the big jobs, all the action. Here i took some pics of them off the internet, there are 2 MERVS. One covers brooklyn, queens and staten island the other covers manhattan and the bronx.

Cat - EXACTLY! Casey starts hs in the fall....hell, all the camp stuff for poms, band she really starts in August..although I will admit, I've been kicking around trying to get away with 2 extra spring break days....she'll be with band Sat-Thurs (am)....so if I stick to the real spring break....we'll just have Thurs (1/2 day), Fri & Sat, Sun (1/2) together...BUT if I can squeak 2 more days....we could leave for home on Tuesday & get 2 more full days in the parks.....Casey's kinda bummed....in the 5 days they have for band...they're taking a side trip to Cocoa beach...& she's like - WHAT? why don't we stay at WDW!

So when does Danny go to DLP? Are you gonna talk to him? If you do, could you have him get me a DLP pin for Casey????I forgot he was going there! how cool!

Airfare IS insane! Even with gas prices what they are, I'm still going to pay less than half for our big trip than I would just to fly into Vermont!

Rebecca - Sat night? PM me your cell number again.....I'll call you when we get into Harrisburg...I was thinking the chocolate factory? ice cream? does that sound ok?

Started packing today...it was funny, Grace was helping me....but mom - dont we need ponchos? (nope), glow sticks? (nope), all of our "standard" Disney stash doesn't need to go..... ....We'll see...there are SO many places in our own country that I want to see (I've never even been to DC!)..although I can't imagine not going to Disney at least once a year.....but maybe I'll have to go back to every 2 years like we did for so long.....blah, I hate even typing that!

It is official ladies and Pj! I am in the midst of packing hedoublehockeysticks. Lord have mercy 3 people can collect a bunch of stuff over the years. Ryan is being REALLY good though about getting rid of stuff. Which makes life so much easier. My poor living room is covered in boxes and we have not even completed one room fully yet! We don't even close for another 2 weeks, but I am so scared to put everything off until the last minute. Which is SO unlike me. I am not one to do things in advance.

ewww - I hate packing...I mean HATE it...in fact when we moved here 11 years ago, I told Mike, I was NEVER doing it again! So when I die the girls get to pack up all my stuff! hahahahahahaha

Today I have my "list" of all the crud I have to finish before we leave ....of course at the top of the list is get my nails/toes done! Grace has basketball camp every morning all week & Casey has to be at the rink to skate....so hopefully I can get my stuff done & the house cleaned up WITHOUT them around to mess if all up again!

Rebecca, very cool about Hawaii!! I know what you mean about air fare. Mexico was just over 600 a person and when the total popped up on that screen and I had to enter in my credit card number of all my hard earned money I almost passed out! hahaha!!


I'm glad we still got to Disney this year and wish we were still going in November, but little Roman and all his illnesses stole all of Sals days off! hahah! But I do think that we can see other places as long as we still do Disney too. haha! Not quite ready to give that one up. For me, my kids are still young and right now Disney is what they will remember.
I traveled Europe as a kid and Mexico loads of times and what do I remember most? Disney. I remember Europe when I went many times over the ages of 18.

Tia, that's a GREAT price I mean SUPER GREAT price to do Europe on, I've been with a group twice when my parents sent me in High School and I have to admit that it was a blast. I saw so much that I wouldn't have done or seen on my own and If I did, it would cost me so much more because they get group rates. It's been so long though I did Disneyland Paris, back when it was EuroDisney! hahahaha!!
My mom just got back from a jaunt to Europe and she had a blast, she prefers going alone than a group because she's not very social AND can move quicker at her own pace. (Of course she's alone, so no kids helps alot! haha)
That lucky lady has 2 months off because she just completed 20 years at Mcdonalds Corp. Can you believe working somewhere that long! Gahhh!!

We probably will stick to doing Mexico every few years, if we like it and then just shorten the Disney Trip like we did this year. We're thrown in other little 'state' vacations around the US throughout the year too. This November we are doing the Mall of America! hahah! I haven't been there since college.
We will probably do Colonial Willamsburg next year, but not sure since at the moment we are cruising on the DCL and that's enough to give me heart attack again.

Alright, i've chatted too much and no one read to the end! I could say something like I'm wearing rainbow colored underpants and no one would know! hahahah!!

Wow all you packers rock, I HATE IT! I mean I am passionate about hating it and we've been looking at houses lately that go up for sale in our dream neighborhood, but of course the thought of packing up 5 people worth of junk scares me! hahaha!!

Hi everyone !! I've been MIA for the last week or so ! Staying busy busy ! Austin started golf lessons today and goes to camp next week. We had a nice, quiet Fathers Day yesterday. My mom is out of town so we took my dad out to dinner - it was different celebrating without her.

We still plan on doing other vacation besides Disney. I was looking into Hawaii, Mexico or a cruise for next May but it looks like Dan may not be around so I guess we'll postpone it a little longer or I'll take the kids back to Disney myself for a quick trip before these AP's expire.
