Tigger&Belle said:I'm eating with you, but no, before you ask, we're not eating in my braille van since I do not allow eating in it!![]()
luvflorida said:WHAT!?! There is NO EATING in the braille van!?! Looks like you're going to be staying home. I guess I'll have to trash the rental car with all my little treat wrappers.

Tigger&Belle said:I'll eat in the rental van with you, no problem. We got tired of finding lollipop sticks stuck to the van seat, wrappers and crumbs all over, half gone juice boxes, and gum smooshed into the carpeting (nobody did that one, of course...). This rule will not go over well during baseball season when I'm carpooling with my 12yo's friends. I'd better warn the moms soon.![]()
I'm laughing because this was the rule when my husband bought a new Grand Jeep Cherokee last year. He said there will be absolutely no eating in his new car and he's really paranoid about it. Whenever we're going somewhere and daughter is in the back seat and he hears a suspicious sound coming from back there, he freaks out. "What's that sound!?!" "Is that a gum wrapper I hear!?!" He'll turn to me in the front passenger seat- "What is she eating back there? Can you see? Is it candy? I said no eating in the car! I found a candy wrapper back there two days ago!"
And if it looks like she's writing something- "Is that a pen I hear? Does she have a PEN in my new car!?!"
I'm not quite that bad and do allow water in the van. I'm sure that the rules will be relaxed when we take our first trip in the van and I do bring coffee or tea on occasion. We have leather seats so at least they can be wiped and I bought rubber mats that are wonderful. It's more the garbage that is always left behind and the drink containers that are spilled. I can't wait until my son gets in with his cruddy, muddy cleats! At least the rubber mats will help with that.
