Popcorn Bucket Question

I agreewith the price of the popcorn bucket. I'm pretty sure the price was above 3.00 but below 4.00. I'm not sure about the DDP questions because I have never used the DDP.

Okay, besides using them to collect change ... what are some other uses for them. The ones I've gotten in the past are just taking up space in my cupboard.

I occasionally use the sandpails from the "Garbage Pail" at Typhoon Lagoon for vegetables, but have yet to find a good use for the popcorn buckets.

Ideas please ....

Well if you have small children, they can store their toys in it.
Or you can store some snacks in it too I would guess.

I'll take a stab and say that you could use them for serving popcorn.

:rotfl: Of course you can!!
But in my opinion the Walt Disney World popcorn has some special taste to it that makes it so addicting. If anyone can figure out this taste, please let me know. :)

We collect buckets too -- but go too often to expect changes each time - I will have to ask my daughter who keeps better track than I but I know for certain mid May we got a Toy Story (mania type) bucket at Hollywood Studios.

Hope that helps in your search!

Liz

We got a Toy Story bucket at the beginning of May also at DHS.

Everytime we get popcorn, my son wants a bucket instead of the box. I wish they would offer refills for a set price instead of forcing you to buy another bucket. We usually just wind up putting them in the recycle trash can at our DVC resort.

Or I wish they would just offer paper buckets instead so we don't have to waste so much petroleum on plastic buckets that just get trashed.

One thing I noticed was that they started using the YOMD bucket at Sleepy Hollow for caramel corn instead of their own signature bucket (less plastic). They used to offer refills on caramel corn at Sleepy Hollow for a little less than the caramel corn plus the bucket. They did away with that several years ago. I had one SH bucket that I must have filled up three or four years in a row. Talk about an environmental conscience. (Or maybe I was just cheap).

Back in April Animal Kingdom still had park-specific popcorn buckets. I bought one only because I wanted the bucket. Made the mistake of storing all my gum in it for a month and now it's gonna reek of mint forever :)

Whew! I wasn't the only one that saw them. I was beginning to think the heat was getting to me and I was halucinating.

When we were there April 19-26 of this year, I saw Animal Kingdom popcorn buckets at a popcorn stand next to one of the bridges (I think it was close by the Dawa Bar).
I should have bought an Animal Kingdom park-specific bucket while I had the chance. popcorn::

I have to agree with others that I don't like the same one being used at all the parks. Having them park-specific is better.

Hello to all my fellow popcorn lovers!! I was lucky enough to go to Tokyo this past spring and we hit up Tokyo Disney and DisneySea. Both were awesome parks and the Japanese love their popcorn. And not just butter flavor...I had honey, soda, caramel, strawberry, capuccino, chocolate, pepper, salt.

Each popcorn cart had it's own popcorn bucket too. Probably 5 different buckets per park. I bought one in each park, a honey pot bucket from Tokyo Disney and a Tower of Terror bucket from DisneySea. Once you bought the bucket you can get refills at the different flavored carts for only a couple of bucks USD. I will try to post some pics later on!

I would love to see those!

Oh, you know those aren't recyclable in most recycling plants, even if they are made of the proper plastic.

At seaworld in San Diego, the kid's meals come in a cute bucket. Not cute enough to get over and over, though. My SIL enjoys the kid's hot dog meals, but unless she's with my son, she just pays full price and tells them to keep the bucket, so it's just served on the same paper things that would have been put into the bucket.

Isn't there a way to do that at WDW? IF you're not going to keep the bucket (or give it to another guest), then the money you're paying for the bucket is wasted anyway, why not ask to see if they'll just refill it, even if they charge the full price. You're wasting the bucket anyway, so the full price gives you the same thing (just the popcorn) anyway, might as well see?

So has anyone asked if you can pay the difference between the DDP snack credit and the bucket price, to upgrade ?

I'm guessing that it's not allowed.
Can not be done.

I brought my bucket to the park one day and filled it with a box of popcorn. It isn't a full bucket but we don't always eat a full bucket anyways.

I really like how the popcorn buckets have a lid that you can put on it. That way if you don't feel like eating all of the popcorn you don't have to. Whereas with the box, you are somewhat forced to eat the whole thing right then and there.

Did someone request photos of the new Toy Story bucket?! WISH GRANTED!

That's a cute bucket!! I hope there are some left by September. :goodvibes

What fun that would be--to try different popcorn and to collect some unique buckets!

For just under $4.00, the bucket of popcorn is a nice snack since we all share the popcorn and we keep the bucket as a souvenir of the trip. The buckets can be used to store all kinds of things--crayons, small toys, tea bags, change, magic markers, craft supplies, etc. We also use ours for popcorn at home when we do movie nights.

I had to go and check our buckets (how did we get so many!) and we did get the new Toy Story Mania one in June! Yay! ;)

I also noticed that the new YOMD one is different than last year. It now says Orville Redenbacher on the bucket when last year's didn't. I guess they wanted their credit for making the popcorn. LOL

We use them for popcorn at home and we bring them back to parks and fill them with microwave popcorn every morning before hitting the parks. I just hang them on the stroller handles and the kids can snack whenever they are hungry.

That's a good idea!!

For some reason at first I thought you all were talking about popcorn buckets that were refillable at all the parks.

Some, dream, huh? ;)

One popcorn bucket holds a bag of popped microve popcorn, so we use it to take in our own popcorn when we go to the movies at home.

AllEars lists the popcorn bucket price as $3.49. Does anyone know if this includes tax?

DD stores crayons in one, markers in another. DS puts all the little roaming pieces of legos that are left after he makes a lego toy in one and he puts his Nintendo DS games in another.

I have one on my desk in our spare room with miscellanous little stuff that the kids leave in there when they play. Little lego parts, polly pocket shoes and who knows what else. Once a month I make the kids empty it out and take their stuff. It's better than putting it in their rooms and having it end up on the floor right away again. :rotfl2:
