We are staying at the POP this may, with a 11 month old and 3 year old. Anyone have any suggestions about which building to request--- in terms of location to food courts and pools? and even which floor-- is it louder in some places? and distance to bus stops?
thanks for any advice!!!

Welcome to the DIS, Spoonful of Sugar!

When I stayed at Pop, we were in the 70's building with the big wheel. It was an awesome location. It only took a minute to walk to the food court, and maybe two-three minutes to the bus stop (we walked through the parking lot to save time). It was an ideal location. Right near the Goofy Water Play area, too.

We were on the first floor. I don't have kids, but if I had two little ones your kids ages, I'd think I'd try to get a first floor room--walking up the steps or looking for an elevator with a sleeping kid in my arms after a long day at the parks doesn't sound fun to me.

It did seem to be a little noisy in the 70s during the day (because of the pool - and the music!). We were in the 50's in the back, facing the lake and Spaceship Earth! It was nice - not far from the bowling pin pool - but far enough. The food court was a little bit of a walk - but I would rather have my room in a quieter area. The only noise I really noticed was the toilets flushing (this must be a design flaw in the building - I have never heard it in another hotel)!

Have fun!

We stayed in the 60s bldg (play doh) and loved it. It was right beside the pools and a short walk to the food court.

Thanks guys. From looking at the map of the POP, we were thinking the 70's building looked like a good spot. With the two little ones we want to be as close to everything as possible. I think they charge more if you want to stay in the 60's, and it seemed to be the same distance from everything as the 50's and 70's.

We stayed in both 50's and 60's with our 2 year old and they were both great. 60's is preferred though, so more money. I would go with 50's. 70's would be good too, but I have heard it is a bit louder there for some reason. Don't know for sure though, as I haven't stayed in that section.

We are going in Dec 2005, and I paid extra for the Preferred Location, which I was told would be need the main pool, food court and bus stops. I have 4 kids ages 11-2, so noise is always a problem for us.
