Pop was Great! AKL was......

AWESOME!

We just got back last night and we stayed 6 nights at Pop and 2 nights at AKL. In the beginning I wasn't too happy about having to stay at Pop and was afraid that I wasn't going to like it (thinking Motel 6 vibe) but I was wrong. Pop was great for our little family of four. We checked in at 6:00 pm and had no wait and was given a 50's room on the third floor. Once upstairs the kids were so excited about the poster in our room because it had Peter Pan on it and the bedspreads had Mickey. The room was clean and housekeeping brought a fridge to our room within an hour (needed to keep medicine cold). Housekeeping was great, always left extra towels and even put the kids toys in the window one night. CM's were all extremely friendly and helpful. All in all it was a great stay.

Day 6 we ate at Boma and fell in love with AKL. We originally had reservations for WL the next 2 nights but called CRO and changed to AKL with only 24 hours notice. Disney is so great! We loved our time at AKL and ate at Boma 3 times while there. The only problem is I am now spoiled and only want to stay at AKL or other deluxes! Great trip, can't wait to go back!

We are doing to same thing for our next trip! How was getting your luggage from Pop to AKL? We have a 8 am ps the day we move to AKL and I am conserned about calling for luggage pickup so early. I can't wait. It will be our first time at both of these resorts and they both sound so much fun. Don't you just love the choices of accomodations at Disney? Something for everyone and even things you didn't think you'de like, you LOVE! Gotta love WDW.

We fell in love with AKL after going to Boma's also! When it was first built, I didn't think I'd want to stay there, but after going to Boma's it became a Must. So I'll be celebrating my Birthday with a few days at AKL.

How did the move go between resorts?

We had a rental car so we decided to move the luggage ourselves. But the CM at Pop told me we could have the luggage moved by them to AKL, but it would be there by 3. Switching resorts wasn't as much as a hassle as I thought it would be and was definitely something I would try again.

We have switched resorts many times and had them transfer luggage. We've never had a problem. Just call luggage services early enough to have them pick it up for you. I'd call about an hour before you are ready to leave the room in case they are backed up.

Glad you had a great trip! AKL is one of those places you have to stay there once to truly understand to magic there. We love everything about that place! Boma is the best! We just came back from staying at CBR for a few days and the one place that was a must to go was AKL specifically for the zebra domes. If they didn't have to be refrigerated, I'd brought back a luggage full!

I know what you mean. We just arrived back at Germany after 10 nights at the Pop. We had dinner at Boma too and decided to stay there once..also had a look at the Port Orleans Riverside and fell in love with it. Now its time to save money
