I'm sure the league has rooms held for the teams that make the finals.

I don't think you would be required to stay at All Stars but your daughter would probably want to stay with her team (and may be required to). Also, most of the DVC rooms are already booked for early December.

I'm not adverse to staying wherever everyone else is, I just thought it might save me some $$, as I have the points (I have 8 I'm going to lose by 1/31 if I dont' use them, first time ever since owning we did not use them all up!)...then again, I could also ask about using points to stay at wherever they want us to stay! Always worth a shot.

I admit to being completely spoiled by the 1 bedrooms at Old Key West, but I've heard wonderful things about all the resorts, so either way.

I really would love it if they got this far, last year this team got within one competition, so we'll see if the luck holds. *crosses fingers* The best part is that her grandparents are going to be AT Disney that week, on our DVC points, so it could really work out well in so many ways.

RE: THe whole Pop Warner program, I'm very impressed with the dedication and spirit I've seen from everyone involved, and the attention paid to schoolwork. Just my two cents! =)

It never occurred to me that there would a national event for organized football for the 10-12 age group -- I always thought these children were older.

Just wanted to make sure the week we chose was not going to be crowded in the parks. Doesnt sound like it will be a problem.

Hope nobody was offended, my own daughters are 3 years into Pop Warner - I LOVE cheerleaders, just didnt want to share my vacation with 8000 of them thats all...LOL.

Yep that is the time they are there. We always tae our kids out for vacation in the first 2 weeks of Dec and every year the POP Warner thing is going on. It used to be great when it seemed to be only the younger kids then about 3 years ago it seemed some older kids were there alos and they had fights and standoffs etc at one of the resorts. The kids were even getting escorted out by security and off the busses for being rude and obnoxious to each other. The kids are hardly ever in the parks as they have so many activites going on elsewhere. They also tend to usually sit around the pool and sunbath even the smallest ones that look like they are in about grade 1.

I was worried about this last Dec, but found that any groups of cheerleaders we ran into were usually well mannered. It was the chaperones that were the pits! There was one girl who was having trouble making up her mind about her lunch and her mom (also the chaperone) was *screaming* at her to hurry up, then when she did, she screamed at her again for saying she wanted fries b/c they would make her fat. The girl started crying and said she didn't want anything to eat and the mom started *again* that she wasn't going to have "no anorexic for a daughter" and on and on. I wanted to punch her in the nose. I felt soooo sorry for the girl (so cute in her little matchy-matchy hair and ensemble with her friends...they were adorable and were being lead by this MONSTER!)

So, the parks should be fine as long as the chaperones can control themselves!

They are ages 5 to 16 (both football players & cheerleaders). I think alot of 12-16 year old girls look 16+ these days!

When I went with my squad, the trip was for winning a special contest at our summer cheerleading camp. WE were all between the ages of 15 and 16.
