Pop Warner week

What is, where,when, Pop Warner week and does it
significantly affect the parks and on-property lodging?
Would you change your vacation dates if they fell
during PWW? Thanks!!

I don't know when Pop Warner week is, but try posting over on the resorts thread, I remember reading about it there.

From what I've read, it does make the parks more crowded, but, of course that's relative to the time of year you are going anyway! As far as changing ressies, I think I'd personally let it rest on where I was staying. I think the POP kids tend to stay at the value resorts, especially Sports. These tend not to be the quietest hotels anyway, and (I've only stayed onsite once) I enjoyed getting a good nights sleep before a big park day. If the hotel was going to be filled w/ hyper (understandable so - I'm pretty hyper at Disney too) kids, I might not want to try and sleep there.

It's december 7-13th? I've been, It wasn't too bad I did a lot of research and found out as much of their schedule as possible and then avoided them like the plague. Where are you staying?

hi. i had this concern also seeing as how we will be there at the exact same time (dec 7-13). I guess it's some sort of football/cheerleading competition. Manyfellow disers have assured me tat the kids are in competitions all day and at the park mostly at night. The only problems was ridig the shuttles at park closing. whether this is true i can't say for certain but i hope so. I was also told they stay at the value resort with some spillover at the port oreleans riverside resort. hope this was some help.

Thanks for the advice. Wouldn't you know it! We are visiting
the week of Dec. 7-13. We'll be staying at the WL with a woods
view. I think we will be fine. How do you find the activity
schedule for the PW week? Thanks!

I am also concerned about Pop Warner week. We will be staying at Pop Century, will the Pop kids be there? I want to take part in some Mousefest activities. Would I be better off going the week after Mousefest weekend instead of the week before when Pop warner is there?

last Dec. we stayed at ASMU during warner week. the parks were fine , but the resort was just awful as far as the kid's behavior. we are NOT talking just hyper kids. there were teens, preteens, running up anad down the resort, yelling and swearing till the wee hours of the morning. they took over the resort. I called numerous times, asking someone to please make them go to their rooms. is there no curfew?
turns out a bunch of families were evicted in the middle of the night, due to a fight in the arcade.

The schedule will probably come out a little closer to travel time. Just watch the Boards. Don't worry and if you see cheerleaders, go the other way.

I've been during Pop Warner and it wasn't bad at all. I would not want to stay in a value resort during that week but other than that, we really were not affected by them.

You should be fine at WL. They usually stay at a value resort. Most of their activities are at Wide World of Sports Complex.

We will also be there the 7th to the 13th. At first I was concerned about it but now I think we will still be ok. We are staying at CBR. I am just going to make sure my kids have the best time they can even though it will be more crowded.

Of course, I haven't told DH who wants to avoid any crowds at all costs. He is just not a people person.

We too are going Dec.7-13 and we are staying at ASMO. I hope this won't be a problem.
