I just bought a WDW package for my family for the week of December 2 - 9, 2007. I then see that the Pop Warner activities are also scheduled for that week. Is that function one that brings a lot of extra people to the area? Do I need to be concerned?

:lmao: :rotfl2: Never been myself during Pop Warner....from what I hear, there are a lot of rude teens (especially at the Value resorts and some Moderates). I would say go prepared to confront rude teens and their adult tag-alongs. What ever you decide...have fun and do not let them ruin it for you.

PS.....there are several threads on here concerning Pop warner if you are interested...just use the search tool at the top.

Welcome to the DIS!

As the previous poster said, if you do a search you will find many threads on this topic. But one thing you won't find is a consensus! I've seen threads where people have said the Pop Warner kids ruined their vacation, and I've seen threads where people have said they didn't even notice the Pop Warner kids.

Don't worry about it, I'm sure you will have a great time!

Depends a lot where you are staying, most stay at the value resorts. We stay at BWV last year and never knew they where there.

This is our 4th time to WDW during the Pop Warner week. Didn't really notice them in the parks. But, I do believe they close MGM one night for a private Pop Warner party. The only complaints I have heard about is in the resorts where they apparently are very noisy. I think last year they were at Pop Century and All Star Sports with a spill over at POR and POFQ. You could check out their website ( just google Pop Warner) to see where they are staying this year.

We were there at the same time last year. The only time we had trouble was at MK. The teens were rude and the chaparones thought everything they did was cute. They also would have one or two people stand in line and then let the whole group get in line when they got to the front. The kids were hitting and screaming in lines. If you can hit a park early then you have a better chance of not dealing with them. Most of the sitings were at night. It is a great week to go other wise. Lines were next to nothing.

We went during Pop Warner week last year. I didn't notice them too much, I did a little research before we left and found out that they were mostly staying at the All Stars, we stayed at POP and didn't have any problems with them. As far as in the parks, the only one that I noticed them at was MGM.

Our only experience was a few years ago. The parks were pretty empty the week after Thanksgiving until the following Friday. We came back to the room at AS Sports and it was totally nuts. There were kids running every where. It wouldn't be bad, but the parents took no control of them.:confused3

I walk with a cane once in awhile and they had no respect or care. We also had kids banging on doors and running away, and no care for manners in the pool.

We stopped staying at the AS Sports until this year, no opening for the Free dining at Pop Century.:sad1:

We were there in Feb '06 with the Cheerleader groups. They had no effect on the parks or our resort (Pop) They were mostly well behaved teens. The only one that was affected was my DD's boyfriend. She kept on popping him for looking. :rotfl2:

We originally were thinking about a vacation that same week, 12/02-12/08, but after reading about Pop Warner we changed are vacation week to the following week. No if we decide to go, we'll avoid PW all together. We would hate for our 1st X-mas Disney trip to have any bad memories.
