Hi everyone
We are SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to be going to the work Dec 5-10, we are booked at BCV but hope to change to VWL at the 7 month mark. These dates conincide with Pop Warner week (football and cheerleaders galore) We only plan to do MVMCP on Thurs nigth Dec 6 and Epcto Sat Dec 8, will Pop Warner be a huge impact on our trip? We plan to explore the resort and enjoy out of park things. Anyone been this time frame?

We were there those exact dates in 2004 staying at VWL. We did not even notice the cheerleaders at Disney. I hear you are impacted most at the value resorts. We did do the MVMCP on the Tuesday night that we were there, and found that to just be overall much more crowded than we had expected. Not because of Por Warner, just crowded in general -- and it was not even sold out. The parade was worth it, and we were glad we did it once. You should definitely make plans to see the Candlelight Processional while you are there.

We really want to but not sure if your kids 8 & 5 will watch it:confused:

We have been in WDW three times during Pop Warner week, and with the exception of MK, have never really noticed that much of an impact. They were all over MK one trip, but that was probably because we went to MK on a Monday. Last December we stayed away from MK during Pop W. week, and waited until the end of our trip to hit it. By doing that we avoided all the Pop kids. They really didn't seem to be an impact in the other parks.

We went to WDW in early December in 2004 and 2006. We noticed that on Saturday of the Pop Warner week the Magic Kingdom became very busy expecially in the evening. Otherwise there was minimal impact -- unless you are staying at the All Stars!

Ditto to what the other posters have said. DH and I were at Port Orleans 2005 during Pop Warner week and it was miserable. But they didnot impact the parks much. I think that you will be fine at a DVC resort.

Ditto to what the others have said... you might notice them at MK (or another parks) in the evenings on the weekend or if staying at the all stars and possibly a moderate should they overbook the all stars which has happend in the past.

We've been numerous times during this week and I believe it actually works to your advantage because people tend to stay away that week thinking it is much worse than it actually it is. People hear, "2000-2500 football players and cheerleaders?" and think "no way" reschedule!!! But in the grand scheme of things, think about it, that is less than 1% of the population at any given time at WDW in whole and they are all on tight schedules and are on tight budgets (as a non profit, all volunteer organization).

This is an ideal time of year to go and until youve seen the world all jazzed up for the holidays you really havent seen the world at all !!!

Thanks for the advice, one of my dreams is to see DW at Christmas, and THIS IS THE YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my absolute favorite time of year to be in WDW. That is why I choose it for my sister's very first trip last year. It was great. We spent the first 3 days of our trip at SSR and the last 5 nights at OKW.

We didn't run into many Pop Warner kids at all until the Thursday and Friday of the week. The beginning of the week they are busy competing and are not at the parks.

We loved the MVMCP.:santa: We saw the parade and all the shows. The fireworks were awesome. The holiday tag for Illuminations was spectacular.:santa:

I'm planning my godson's fisrt trip and it will be early December...:cloud9:

I only felt it on the crowded buses to and from my values hotel in my pre-DVC trip. The Pop Warner kids I came across were very nice though, and gave up seats for my little ones. I have heard stories from other values guests of football playing and cheerleading for all to hear at 3 am, which made one couple I met change to another hotel!
